Bungie why would you kill the game even more? The player base is down immensely and you create this special ammo transmat…seriously? And you apply it literally everywhere in crucible.
You guys need to analyze this issue and take it out. Just put it in a game mode not all of them.

7 RepliesEh better than getting aped every 5 sec. Actually getting into primary gun fights is more fun. Time to kill is good now to. Now. people who suck at aiming don’t get lucky.

2 Replies"Gamers" dont want to be one shoted anymore sorry. They want chill gameplay that doesnt punish them now. Accept it and move on

5 RepliesUm.. I like it? But then again, I can also hit headshots…

It wouldn't be that bad if it took half the kills... and they had special ammo boxes like in D1 😂

1 ReplyEdited by COMBATICUS: 3/15/2024 10:18:45 PMThe problem with the special. If you go against a team that's better than the one you're in, they will continuously have special while the other team is falling victim to these players. At least before this update, everyone had something when they spawned, making it slightly more fair because both of you have it, rather than just one side. It's just as bad as their win/loss ratio, lol. They are tilting the balance even more

6 RepliesPvP was shotgun, fusion and sniper simulator before this lol. The change was needed

Edited by Kiro - 13: 3/15/2024 8:59:06 PMIts not bad but it could use some slight adjustment. Whats the plan when the titan bubbles point or warlock pops well, you HAVE to have green ammo. Counter super'ing is not the answer because WoR and bubble have the shortest CD in the game so you will never get a damage super that can cancel it out in time. Maybe start SG and SR with 3 rounds, but it needs to be carefully evaluated. As 12 rounds on Forerunner lets say or 6 rounds on glaive would be way to much as they would act as clean/soften weapon with a large reserve.

1 ReplyAs soon they put it in 1 game mode only…it will die immediately lmaoo

2 RepliesEdited by Griever: 3/15/2024 6:19:01 PMSo, it was better when most players just spammed OHK weapons the entire match on top of spawn killing and team shooting 1 guy? I would rather have this because that's just one less problem in a game with one of the worst PVP modes out there. Tell you what though, let's bring back the old system. In exchange: * All primary weapons lose half their recoil and get an extra +15 target acquisition. * Their range increased by 10-15 meters. * Aim assist/ bullet magnetism is increased by another 20 meters on all primary weapons. * The bullet magnetism cone is increased on all primary weapons to the point that if they're inside the reticle at all, bullets will magnetize to them and ADS gets the same size cone. * They revert all the nerfs to various damage perks in PVP like Kill Clip. Thus, allowing weapons like DMT to 2 tap again, Recluse to kill as easily as a buffed Tarrabah, and Not Forgotten to be useful in PvE again since the PVP nerf is what butchered it. * And all primary weapons get damage buffs so there is room for missing crits against all resilience levels. Such as all 140 HCs being able to 2 crit 1 body at 100 resilience. All to give them a better chance against specials if they are in the special range. Perfectly fair. You get more ammo for your crutch that you obviously need because you have difficulty getting kills on your own without a OHK, spawn killing, and/ or team shooting and can only win most fights when the other person doesn't have a fair chance to run or fight back. I get more range, consistency, damage/ duration for some perks, and more forgiveness for missed shots. Everyone wins. It's a fair trade.

3 RepliesMy brother in Christ you can use your primary to generate special ammo you just can’t maintain a play style centred around your special in every gunfight.

12 RepliesEdited by Dredgen Truth: 3/15/2024 7:13:28 AMThe changes that they made were intended to bring back the core crucible playerbase. The people who play crucible for fun, and play it a lot. These players were hemorrhaging, and have been for a good while now. These kinds of changes are generally good for those players. They are skilled enough to find consistent success with their primary, and to understand how to manage special ammo. The transmat makes it so that special weapons are exactly that, specialized. You can, and should, only use them for the scenarios where you need them. It has made special ammo into something that can no longer be used as a replacement for primary ammo. Generally, this leaves the game feeling more like it rewards skill, which is something that was lacking for the past few years now. These changes only hurt more casual players, generally the type who play crucible to complete bounties or their pinnacles and not really because they're enjoying the mode. The unfortunate thing is this: those dedicated players spend more money in total than those casual players do, despite being significantly outnumbered by the casuals. Bungie needs them right now more than ever. Whether or not you agree with these changes (which I personally do) bungie isn't going to go back on them. Maybe walk them back a little bit, but if they do that it's going to be less "reverting to the old style" and more "finding a middleground between what we had before and what we have now".

3 RepliesAnother seemingly unforeseen side-effect is that it encourages players to avoid engaging at close to medium ranges. If the ammo is delivered directly to you without needing to scavenge it, then why not sit in the back of the map with a Scout Rifle?

I just tried checkmate Trials for the 1st time. I will just say, right away - as a pve main, I will not play checkmate version of anything in this game. As a pve main, special ammo was the only thing that allowed me to counter pvp mains, at least sometimes. Without special ammo, I stand zero chance. Played half an hour, zero wins, zero round wins, zero rep. I remained in the main pool, despite playing on flawed wealth card. In 2 years of playing the game, this has never happened before. Things have never been THIS bad, during that time. Maybe several years ago, when I wasn't playing. I wish them all good luck with it, they're gonna need it.

1 ReplyEdited by The Hermit IX: 3/15/2024 8:32:48 AMlol I just did a match where I had 16 rounds for my Chaperone. I was looking for reasons to use it. I did have nice 4 kill situation at close range as the match was ending. Use your primary.

Someone needs a tissue transmat.

You got to love all these people jumping on the bandwagon saying you crutch on specials and stuff not realising they’re the problem. This game is a LOOTER SHOOTER and this nerf has largely made special weapons redundant in the arguably the hardest content of the game. So why would I ever bother farming content for a god roll special ever again? This simple answer is I won’t because there is no point when a half good roll will get me through any PVE content I want to do.

I don't think it needs to go. But It definitely needs a tuning pass. Or it's currently bugged. In trials they said 3 kills would get you a transmat. But it doesn't. Sonthe current meta is to simply burn special than swap to double primary. It needs to either be fixed to work correctly or if it's working as intended needs to be buffed so you get a little more. In 6s it feels more or less alright, there's enough going on between obj's and assists, i often end up sitting on 4 to 8 rounds in my special. But in 3's it feels incredibly stingy and out of balance with the ability sandbox. Special weapons keep most of the abilities in destiny in balance. Right now there's way more abilities than special in 3's. So people are basically just waiting on cooldowns and laning with pulses and autos. 140 handcannons are basically dead. 120's are the only viable handcannon. Auto's are way to hot. Scouts have they're place but are to sluggish when the push happens (from either side). This sandbox feels way more out of balance than the previous one did. Really just the ability nerfs were needed. I don't health pools needed to be changed. And special needs a little more uptime to keep the abilities in check more.

As annoying as it can be, they have better ways for you to actually get the special you want, than in the other mode. I had an incredibly embarrassing game where quite literally all I was doing was dying and I still got a good amount of special. They also are experimenting with ammo pickups for special too. Something needed to be done about the amount special ammo and the previous special system wasnt good, disproportionly affecting all the problematic special.

I can't remember if you scored the most on the team when I came in last or when your team beat me but I'm pretty sure I was in one of your lobbies yesterday. Last.

Edited by Poolwizard: 3/15/2024 2:00:16 PMYeah, I was shocked. I still can't believe they removed unlimited special from you burgers. Look at the bright side. You still can do 2 of your 3 favorite activities in Bot walking and spamming melees.

3 RepliesI like it too. So much better game now people aren’t just spamming abilities and special weapons.

1 ReplyEdited by Ehhhric13: 3/15/2024 1:58:29 AMYou all abused special ammo weapons in PVP before the patch. This is consequence for that. Plus I like this system.

8 RepliesI think it's not a bad system but I think you should get 3 rounds when you transmat.
