Sniper rifles is a dead archetype

With recent changes to special ammo, it became abundantly clear that sniper rifles have no place in current sandbox. Sniper rifle is a high skill - high reward archetype, which requires only precision hits compared to other specials. Limited special ammo means that player now don't have any right to miss even a single shot. With the abundance or pulse rifles and scout rifles, it becomes nearly impossible to compete on long lanes with a sniper rifle. If we compare 2 trials weekends on the same map (burnout), we can clearly see how sniper rifles usage got tanked. Week 167 (previous week) - 220 088 players, 296 958 sniper rifle takedowns (1.3%) Week 159 - 146 086 players, 1 153 505 sniper rifle takedowns (8.0%) With population lower by 34%, sniper rifles had almost 4x higher usage, compared to previous weekend. Need to mention that Burnout is a versatile map with long lanes and choke points, where every gun can be viable. Scout rifles are de facto is the new long range guns with much lower risks or skill required, but with the same high reward. It becomes obvious looking at how scout rifles dwarf sniper rifles usage in comparison, 1 913 477 scout rifle toakedowns (8.0%) - 85% more than sniper rifle. I don't have clear answer what needs to be done to keep sniper rifles alive, but it's clear that special ammo changes made sniper rifles a useless option in crucible, making team deathballs nearly unpunishable.
