Hard to balance a game mode no one is playing

The new passage if you win 3 you dont reset is worthless . You end up getting 3 wins with some effort but then the match making sets you up with the cheats from there on . Unless bungies makes it 7 wins to the light house not in a row just 7 wins it will be trash. Even at that you will grind several games for just 1 win if your lucky enough not to get matched with the cheat magee's every game. No way I'm buying the final shape unless they fix the ladder system in trials. I'm not paying for a game that is this broken .

I was totally carried on my last win so I can’t complain. Nothing like getting nearly insta killed by Nechrocasm. They weren’t even showing up on my radar lol. I can imagine that if I sprint to the zone and see no one, then I look away and die by a player that obviously got there before me and somehow managed to evade radar must have been crouching and watching me the entire 1.5 seconds I spent there and killed me in .5 seconds. Or maybe I’m just getting old.

One thing that really makes a big difference is communication. As a Solo player in trials myself, I do find that regardless of your progress versus your teammates progress or your opponents, it's the lack of willingness to use voice chat to communicate in trials to coordinate as a team. Now don't get me wrong I know how toxic some players can be trust me, this weekend was told to get COVID and not recover, and that I or my teammate were trash ect, not really a motivating way to encourage you to do better honestly. Despite all this toxic behavior I managed to go Flawless on a Confidence Card using Crota's end scout and the trials glaive. I can tell you while on a Confidence Card it took me 20 hours of grind to achieve victory, my very first card on confidence I went 6/7 and lost due to my teammates who were a duo, they held their super to orbit and cost me my win on my very first card. Players would message me on the app saying I have no skill using a glaive even though I was whooping their butts, they were being very toxic about how I played even though it was my playstyle, and it got me a flawless on confidence card. I was being matched with players on other cards so their willingness to win was not a great as mine due to the card type I was using was different than theirs. In regards to matchmaking I agree it's unfair to be matched up against those who already been flawless, or players who sandbag to carry, but it's on Bungie to deal with how this works. If it were card specific the game would not que you due to type of card players will use the most, like mercy or now persistence just for a free adept. This type of progression matchmaking just helps que you with players on the same win loss on your card and seems like a stupid idea to me but personally do not know how else it could be done without ruining the integrity of it's already convoluted matchmaking system due to card difference and wins progressed through. All the while keeping it alive in que and not dead. As for Flawless pool I agree it should be brought back to allow players who have yet to go flawless, have a chance to get to the lighthouse and enjoy it as much as everyone else who has gotten there already. The players who disagree are those who know they can get to the lighthouse but don't want to match up against players who are very good and just want to pub stomp lobbies. Imo I think that if it were brought back more players would play but then the best of the best would get salty cause then they would be stuck playing nothing but the best. That's just competitive matchmaking in a nutshell and it's hard to please both sides. All I can say is try to adapt with your team make an effort to communicate in a competitive space without toxicity (not everyone is a pro) and work as a team to achieve your goals whether solo or not. If my sorry butt can go flawless on a confidence card anyone can. Enjoy D2 Guardian.

Was nothing wrong with the flawless pool other than streamers having harder carries. And that cant happen with Bungie, their beloved streamers need to be protected... Also the issue that came with the flawless pool which was people resetting before 7 wins was also kinda fixed with the possibility to let flawless people farm adepts. Why was that not enough? Let flawless players farm their adepts against other flawless players, would make too much sense i guess. This streamer/elitist loving dev needs to think about whos their feeding hand. The majority of players who are casuals...

It's really bad. Thought the changes would bring more players back but it's even worse sweat stacks and cheaters, and the matchmaking seems to decide the outcome in solo/duo matches by putting all the best players on one side.

I’ve been getting bots on my team all weekend

I felt the same. Was struggling to get to even get the first win. Then today, I went flawless. Mm is defo messed up and I think it's just pure luck who you get matched against

They keep changing the way MM works in Trials based on people who say "they can't win a single game." No matter how bungies try to work it around the worst PvP players, they all comeback and say "MM in trails sucks." Card Based MM (best MM so far IMO) - Oh no top players/streamers/carries are abusing by resetting every game Flawless Pool - Oh no, top player/streamers/carries are abusing it by resetting before going flawless. Current system - (insert OP here) It always boils down to bad players complain that good player exist.

Lmao they’ve changed the matchmaking 50 times and always miss the mark….. according to the playerbase. At some point you have to ask the question: is this a problem with Bungie or a problem with people not being good? This isn’t even a skill issue comment, it’s a genuine question.

Shocker I played the same team 3 times in a row who was flawless. This would be bearable if matchmaking was working properly

I got to two wins and a teammate got a flawless while two on the enemy team lost their flawless. Matchmaking is 100% not working.
