Next GGs.... @Bungie; How to permanently fix the scoring system to make it fair.

The only way GGs will ever be a real community competition IS if you make us pledge to one class for the duration. A lot of people have 3 characters but aren't Hunter mains... if you made it so people could only acquire medals, rewards... and complete the event card challenges ON their pledged class. For the entirety of GGs... I know Titan & Lock mains, most of them wouldn't commit for 3-4 weeks to a class that ISN'T their main. 2. Focused activities should run longer and have smaller interim gaps in-between them. 3. The winner of each instance is excluded from all but the 1st focus activity after reset each daily reset; this how it would work; 1st reset activity 1v1v1 all classes X vs. Y vs. Z. (Z wins) Next focus activity is X vs. Y. (Y wins) Then X vs. Z (Z wins) See how that works? The dominant pop class is unable to snowball focus victories AND the loser bracket is always in it. 4. Focus victories are weighted the same regardless of those individual focus scores so (+1) no matter how bad the winning class beats the other. That's for focus activities: Next, if you don't want to pledge to a single class... you DON'T have to... BUT your medals and participation doesn't count towards the standings unless you commit... until you pledge. You could earn medals and complete event challenges for the event card (as "Un-Pledged"), but you wouldn't get the podium rewards... you couldn't get champion packages or contribute to the overall standings until you pledge. You could pledge later, but until you do... your progress wouldn't count for the competition. Then to manage pop disparities beyond the focus event scoring... meaning "pledged" medals... you immediately exclude anyone playing who hasn't acquired at least say 10 medals and dunked them. Then you take a median average from there... you take the bottom 15% after 10 medals, exclude those medals/players... the top 15% you exclude those players... Then you average the other 70% to medal score per player... and the team that wins gets a +1. This is done daily. Then the weekly winner would be those daily winners. This is how you do GGs where population would have significantly less impact BUT still provided a REAL class vs. class community competition. For your consideration @Bungie, please and thank you 😇 👍💠.

  • This is smart. The class lock-in could be activated as a new step in the intro quest (make you pledge to a statue in the tower or dunk a starter medal in a slot) to prevent confusion. Not being required to commit to a class is 90% of the issues in my opinion. As soon as hunters won the first day, everyone hopped on Hunter for the extra free rewards. And that then snowballs them. Either way. Really like the system you made. Hopefully someone at Bungie sees this or at least comes to a similar conclusion…

Titans will never win with your idea so its pointless. Whats the point of a open competition between classes if ones excluded. The best way is to lower the value of a medal for the dominant class. Funny how you say average twice, cause median is the average of a data set saying “median average” is redundant. Anyways the idea of Guardian Games is its class v class v class if Hunters dominate then they dominate why mess with the numbers? They won fare and square because more people play hunters, and if thats really a issue then why have guardian games to begin with.
