Lately, I've had some bad LFG experiences and I wouldn't entirely be surprised if some people I've played with decided to report me for some reason. And I know Bungie's system for banning can be kinda iffy.
Maybe it's just that bit of anxiety in me. Does anyone else feel this though?

1 ReplyWhen you say "bad LFG experiences"...? Like the context is pretty important lol.

Given that bungie has banned people for no data based reasons on multiple occasions. Anything’s possible. Worst part is there isn’t any follow up or place to fight it, it’s just “hey you’re a bad person, get lost for an undisclosed amount of time” I could provide a list of examples but they’re mostly only valid if you know how trustworthy the individuals actually are. But it is a long -blam!- list lol
-
2 RepliesThat's how Bungie works. Ban honest people and promote cheating folk.
-
It's possible. Used to get people banned all the time back on the 360. Mass report with the homies and move on. It's all an automated system, with enough reports anything can happen. It takes time and social pressure to have a real person to look over a case.

Did you find that 3.2 and 2.4 on lfg ......or did you pay dawg?
-
My friend I have been a negative KD and a casual most of my career since I started D2 in beyond light. I can’t tell you how many times I got messages about being reported in PvP matches and even one time got a report from a Top 0.01% Trials player just because I got him with a lucky Lorentz shot and his team lost.
-
Dude so what if you get banned ….it’s just a video game . But fixating on something that hasn’t happened or will happen isn’t helping you . Step back , talk to some one , get help ✌️
-
What did you do to warrant reporting?
-
You’ll be just fine if you’re not exploiting the game
-
Careful, your paranoia is showing.
-
2 RepliesIt'll be like the whole Fallout 76 Dev Room issue a couple years back.

7 RepliesUnless you get mass reported by a large part of the community I don't think bungie will have you on the radar. The probability of you getting a (temp) ban is significantly smaller then let's say a twitch streamer. I'm not sure if you're familiar with a streamer called terror but he got a pvp restriction from getting Mass reported. We all get reported for the dumbest things especially killing someone we will be reported under hacking or cheating. Don't worry about it so much there's plenty of other games to enjoy that treat you better anyways :)

1 ReplyFalse reports are not taken lightly by some devs. I'm sure Bungie is no different. So, let them false report you. It may end up costing them instead.
-
Doesn't happen. Bungie investigates reports and won't ban unless the charges are clearly true and can be proven. I have reported suspicious behavior in pvp before (it has to be really funky though) and have still seen those people day after day afterwards. Sad to say, but after cross play was implemented I reported many "bad connections" before I realized how badly cross play screwed up everything. Once it became obvious it was Bungiefukkery I stopped. And just for clarification, I don't report unless it's really, really super suspicious. I haven't played pvp since the week after they removed solo que anymore though. Cross Play plus international team lag combined equals zero fun to be had.

I get the classic "rEpOrTeD" hatemail all the time and haven't had an issue. Anyway, I've seen open cheaters just get temp bans or just no bans at all so I doubt they'd perma-ban you on reports alone.
-
Same for me. Even though it is irrational, it's still scary to think that one day you could just be locked out of the game for no reason. Especially because your only course of action is to basically ask nicely for Bungie to reconsider.
-
There are a lot of false reports, so I assume there’s more to it than that. I wouldn’t worry about it.
-
Edited by PipeWrench: 3/3/2024 12:55:46 PMI get the “reported” hate mail once in a while and never banned. Even after a match where my stats are beyond trash. Some people in PvP are just crybabies. I used to play with a couple people who were convinced that anybody who killed them was a cheater, so they spent more time in matches reporting people than actually playing. I can’t imagine how many -blam!- reports Bungie get entered in a day. After a few months though, I like to reply to the person and ask them how long it’s gonna take for the ban to come through.
-
Did you do anything worth banning? If not then you're good.
-
A few months ago, someone sent me a friend request, which I rejected - just for him saying something like "then you cheat"... The system is getting used to being compromised by some individuals, no question. I'm going so far as to say that if someone behaves like this in a game, he/she also acts like this in their daily routine.
-
Bungie doesn’t care. They’ve made it abundantly clear over the years they just don’t care about pvp. They don’t care about balance only player numbers. Right now they need the cheaters to boost their player numbers cause they are making up so much of the pvp population right now.

1 ReplyNot anymore at least. I’ve probably been reported for cheating lots of times and nothing happens cause I’m not cheating lol. Just this week, just because I was hitting good shots for once I got called an aimbotter 😭💀
