Well, heavy wave frame GLs are getting a damage buff of 20% and wave width buff of 40% so the new GL with voltshot chain reaction should still be very interesting.

9 RepliesEdited by ZayOsiris Gaming: 3/2/2024 6:41:39 PMWhat an excessive amount of b*tching, all the time. Yeah sure, these nerfs aren’t great. But you’re far more in favor of your own bias — VS having a healthier sandbox experience for all other weapon choices. It’s the same situation we had with osteo being far too busted to the point of invalidating all other weapons that came after. Chain reaction will STILL be just as useful, if not still more useful than other explosive ad clear options. Plus; this opens up the chance for that perk to be seen on more weapon types like glaives for example. I don’t know about you, but I’d love to see a “Cold Steel” & “Chain reaction” perk combo on a future glaive, or even chain reaction on other weapons..! And if that has to come at a minor nerf, so be it.

1 ReplyIf I gather correctly they said all this in a podcast? Seriously, they put out major changes in a pod cast? Like that is going to make the player base happy? They don't communicate well enough already and now they put what may be termed critical nerfs out in a pod cast so many players will miss it? Bungie is seriously loosing it.
-
2 RepliesThe weapon team is just dumb. They keep trying to make players use heavy weapons for ad clear… They are disconnected with the player base. They are not listening. Nobody cares about voltshot and chain reaction on a heavy weapon.
-
Like a big smh moment
The nerf to chain reaction is for specials, the new GL is a heavy weapon.

1 ReplyEdited by Blackheart6004: 3/2/2024 6:09:30 PMFor those confused about the nerf, the entire written Q&A podcast is here - https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/1b32t57/massive_breakdown_of_the_bungie_qa_on_the_firing/
Chain Reaction on Special Weapons: Is getting brought down in strength on Special-ammo weapons (cough Forbearance cough) in The Final Shape Means they’ll be able to put it on more things, like Glaives
Currently, the only special weapons with Chain Reaction in the entire game are *obviously* Forbearance and Salvager's Salvo.
-
You're clearly blind, deaf and -blam!-. The nerf is not for heavies, it's for specials.
-
8 RepliesIf you are are too shortsighted, this change won't make sense to you. You look around at the game you are playing now and it doesn't make sense. Bungie is playing and testing a (yet to be released) version of this game where it does make sense. They do this a lot, announce the changes, give the community time to adapt/complain, then roll out the changes and we play and it actually makes sense. Forebearance is overpowered NOW, and if it was more widely used we would have seen a nerf to chain reaction sooner. Wait and see, it will all make sense.

3 RepliesIdc. I'm not putting a wave Gl as my heavy over rockets.
-
3 RepliesI have played this game for 2 years now and have NEVER used heavy to clear adds. Who the F does that? Why?

1 Reply*laughs in harsh language with destabilizing rounds*

They have to nerf forbearance. Otherwise, no one would chase the new items.

Clown Show
-
4 RepliesIt’s literally only a nerf on specials
-
1 Replyisn't the nerf for chain only on special weapons?
-
8 RepliesEdited by xbroggiex: 3/2/2024 4:28:16 PMThey're nerfing Chain Reaction? What kind of -blam!- are they smoking? Bet it was some feedback like "fOrBeRaNcE iS DEE onLy USed wAVee fRAmE!!!! nErF ChaIn rEAcTioN!1!!11!!!1" as if every player raids or does Vow.

Arc for me was a strange choice to begin with. But it does make me laugh

8 RepliesThese are the same “people” that nerfed the hell out of Ghally and the same day released the Ghally Nerf ornament so….
-
Way to bring the masses back Bungie. Tone deaf.
-
23 Repliesdo people still get surprised by this stuff? they nerf the one chest piece for warlock fusion nades and gave it its first ornament. the community should just be used to it
-
6 RepliesWho ever decided on the Nerf should have been laid off and should.

Any nerf will be big blow for low skilled player like me. For us, its very hard to find raid group and if we able to find players that willing to play we will be struggle to finish the raid. And we have to do the raid multiple times to get the weapons. Most of us has limited time to play due real life activities. For us, it will be months before we able to get the weapons. Then Bungie nerf the weapons. Then what is the point??????? This is why many customer don't want to buy the game anymore because things become useless even before we get it. I wish the game is not a live service. So it can not be altered by developer. Just like old day Halo. I bought every single Halo series 2 copies because I want to play with my son. Now...I just stop buying Destiny expansion or season. So Sad..!!

It’s allegedly only a nerf on special weapons. Right now it’s one of the best add-clear perks, easiest kill requirement with minimal to no drawbacks. On the bright side, this means they may let it roll on more weapons in the future. Fusions, pellet shotguns, glaives, and maybe some more GLs or even precision weapons… Better to wait and see either way tho
-
1 ReplyWait, where?
-
Chain reaction on special ammo weapons. I'm all for pitch forks on nerfs. But this post isn't accurate. That heavy gl will still operate at full power. We all know why this is happening.

2 RepliesEdited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 3/1/2024 7:14:42 PMWhy am I not surprised that forbearance is getting nerfed? Lol Thank managed democracy & sweet sweet liber-tea for helldivers 2 being out and the devs planning on bringing other weapons up instead of nerfing the breaker shotgun and defender smg.
