Yeah. Giving more incentives to win or to reach a certain rank in pvp, will only bring out more cheaters. Comp has been dead for a long time now and they tried to revive it with exclusive emblems and weapons, but it wasn't enough. Personally i think that they should just let it die and just remove it from the game. Whilst of course pvp only players should have thing to chase in pvp and not have to go to pve for certain items, The utterly useless anti-cheat that Bungie has makes pvp a complete chore to play through. Even more so for those who isn't a pvp player or likes it. I don't like pvp in this game but i will occasionally play it, especially Trials. Just for the items. There, of course you will find a lot of cheaters and i would like it if it didn't spread.

22 RepliesBungie just removed my cheaters post as a violation and I didn’t even accuse anyone specific. I just mentioned cheating devices. That tells me that Bungie supports cheaters. The proof is in the fact that this game has been out 10 years and they have done NOTHING.

3 RepliesMy guess is that Bungie isn't going to do much more to stop cheaters. Not trying to be negative, but it's simply too expensive, Bungie has money problems, and they reportedly laid off a lot of security staff recently. I could be wrong though. They could announce 15K new bans tomorrow...

This is very true, however. I feel the intent behind the update is to refresh the player base. The more players coming back into the competitive pool should equal less games matched against cheaters/manipulators which in turn means less complaints.

Devs like Bungie never undrestood how important fighting cheaters really is for the health of the game. Like for example Valve does a decent job. VAC is pretty invasive, yet not remotely enough to fight a majority of cheaters in counter strike. Bungies anti cheat is an open door even compared to that it seems. The only really working anti cheat comes from Riot games for valorant. Thats a really invasive system and it works. How are we still not at the point that every shooter dev simply uses invasive anti cheat like Riot does? Mind blowing in todays day and age. If you are concerned about privacy, then throw away your smart phone first and delete all social media presence + stop using the internet, then we can talk about privacy. So thats a terrible excuse for not using invasive anti cheat like riot does. We literally have no privacy anyways nowadays.

We have been through this before where the game was in the brink of death because of cheaters. Bungie is gonna release a new anti cheat system and then around 6 months the cheaters are gonna spike again only for bungie to make another anti cheat 6 months later.

9 RepliesNothing will happen to those cheaters before or after Final Shape. Even streamers like Gernader Jake or Aztecross reports them. And once in a blue moon they will get the message of reported players. Not everything will be caught by BattlEye. That is why I don't see any messages on players be reported by me.
