I have played Destiny since the original beta. Why in D2 are we paying for the expansion playing through it and expected to play the same content story wise to catch up classes that are not our main or pay? Maybe I am missing something or am wrong but the story doesn't differ. The power level grinder is fine but you shouldn't have to replay the story to catch up your side classes to earn the subclasses.

2 RepliesSo if you've been playing since the beta, then you would know that we have always had to play through the various story lines to unlock subclasses. - When our characters are first raised in the Cosmodrome (Destiny 1 OG) I'll add that you had to reach level 15 to unlock the second class - Unlocking the third subclass (Destiny 1- Taken King) - Having to relearn them after Ghaul trapped the Traveler (Destiny 2 - OG) - Acquiring the middle trees (Forsaken) - Acquiring Stasis (Beyond Light) At least it's a lot easier to get the Aspects and fragments than how it was originally acoomplished - Acquiring Strand (Lightfall)

Are we supposed to bow at your feet? What relevance does it even have to your point?

But the story is so great, its a privilege to get to experience it 2 more times

I'd do it if they charged bright dust, but silver? Hell no.

I wonder what the stats are on how many people actually have multiple characters. I have all three, but is that the majority? Minority? I wonder.

It's your own choice.

You don't have to do either one. What does your playing "since the original beta" have to do with this, anyway?

Player retention is very important to this game. The more time you play the game, the better for them. (and tbh maybe you as well, get as much content out of this game as possible. If you space out your playtimes for these campaigns, its not as bad) I also think in general, bungie knows this system for subclasses was too long (in the case of beyond light and stasis) and is why strand is faster to obtain that those, and why 3.0 sublcasses are just glimmer purchases now, rather than being tied to anything else.
