I'm glad that players are getting more avenues to earn loot, thats objectively a good thing. What i'm concerned about is that, while they are [i]technically[/i] slightly better, the situations in which adept weapons are better than regular weapons are very few. I would say out of every 100 interactions, only one of them will be won because of an adepts benefits, presuming that the guns we are comparing are an adept and a non adept with the exact same roll. Why does this matter? Because right now, the primary reason people really chase them is because they are hard to earn. For example, i spent probably a good 10-20 hours chasing a god rolled adept cataphract last time it was up, not because i needed it to be adept, ive got more than enough trials engrams to focus a regular cataphract, and the difference in effectiveness would be incredibly low. The reason i wanted it is because having one with that gold coat of paint is proof of making it to the lighthouse. Thats an achievement that players are supposed to be proud of. I worry that the addition of a way to get adepts without going flawless is going to expose more and more people to the reality that adept weapons just dont matter, and as a result, the motivation to chase them will decrease, and eventually people might [i]stop[/i] playing trials over it, rather than feel motivated to continue. All the other changes for trials were great though. I think players need to be given more loot for trying and more loot needs to not be so focused on accruing wins. In that regard theres good changes all around. My only concern is that the adept weapon, and eventually the lighthouse, are no longer going to serve as achievements that players care about.
