It's not about live service, player retention or microtansactions.
It's all about the player's fun that makes your game successful.
If bungie no longer "makes the games they want to play", then don't exect a player wanting either. Right now Destiny 2, a multiplatform "f2p" aaa game gets outperform by a limited platform coop title with a fraction of a destiny budget and made by de facto an indie studio.

4 RepliesWhy do these brain dead posts come out every time a new game drops. It’s like people don’t get how game launches work, or that we’ve gone through almost a decade of failed destiny killers already

It’s an alright game, still prefer D2.

It looks good but needs something I don't have much of, friends to play with

Here’s my breakdown. I can confirm that Helldivers is a great game. People will see the high numbers and think it’s the next Density (yes, density) killer. So, will it kill Density? Yes and no. Density has a solid fan base that won’t be leaving anytime soon. The catch? It’s an older(ish) game. There won’t be any significant boom in player counts unless something wild happens. What I’m saying here is that Density is stagnant, not changing in any major ways. Is it dead? No. Will I play it ever again? Also no. Helldivers has much to prove in the coming updates. They’ll need to accommodate for the massive player count with more servers. Another thing they need to consider is the demand for new content, even if that’s far from now. If you want to keep having people come back, you need to keep them entertained and engaged. Eh, it’s just a Thire thought.

Ah man, just trolling for some destiny game rage and spawn throws ya to the flood. Not fair

If it was first person, I'd be worried. Also, the fact that it's Sony exclusive is alienating a good few players. Don't think bungo will lose much sleep.
