I can't speak to Helldivers 2 personally, but it certainly seems to be quite popular.
The Mass Effect series, on the other hand, I can whole-heartedly endorse.

I would be remiss if I didn't point out that ME 1 can be a bit daunting initially as it takes a while to get the story rolling and can seem bogged down at times but in the long run, I feel the payoff is well worth it.

This is a good series to get into then, and one of my favorite aspects is how some decisions can have lasting effects across the entire trilogy. Also, although it had a rough start when it first dropped, and that's probably being generous, once the game was patched ME: Andromeda was a solid game as well. Sadly, because of the poor reception it was left with unanswered/incomplete storylines. At least, so far; I suppose there's a possibility of some of those getting wrapped up when ME 4 releases. 🤞

This is all good to hear! I can’t wait to hear what everybody has to say, but I’m sure that everybody will say “Helldivers is good, but Mass Effect is Mass Effect”. Thank you for your quick and actually important input
