I don’t play as often anymore but sifting through the forums has made me realize how often Bungie has catered to both crowds and it literally ruins the game.
Toxic PvE elitists say raids were “too easy” so Bungie makes them difficult and makes it un enjoyable for most of the player base.
PvP casuals cry about EVERYTHING so bungie caters since they are the majority and once again, ruins it for the PvP mains.
PvP -CBMM, PvE Raid- VoG, and Dungeon - Grasp of Avarice was peak imo because it had the fun factor.

Wow, a post attacking both dedicated and casual players You don't see that every day -
Who is your post for?
-
Soooo.. Everybody is to blame for everything? Apart from you….and Mostafa Crumpwitch of Arkansas, who considers himself ‘the’ elite casual.

Anyone that doesn't agree with me is toxic. Anyone that's better than me is cheating. Anyone that plays more than me needs to touch grass. Anyone that's worse than me is a scrub. Anyone that plays less than me needs to "git gud"
welcome to gaming

Toxic PvE elitists say raids were “too easy” so Bungie makes them difficult and makes it un enjoyable for most of the player base.
The most recent raids are two of the easiest.
PvP casuals cry about EVERYTHING so bungie caters since they are the majority and once again, ruins it for the PvP mains.
The pvp changes discussed in the most recent TWAB are going to HEAVILY favor people who are good at PvP. Also if a game is catering to both casuals AND "elitists", they're probably doing an okay job lol, not that I agree that this is what's happening with Destiny-I don't lol.

The problem isn't the players, Bungie will change up the game regardless of who is or isn't there. Blaming everyone for changes you don't like has nothing to do with the playerbase, after all, most of us don't work there at Bungie and most of us have zero knowledge on how to program a game. PVE, raids aren't hard, you can make them harder, but raids are not hard. The elite raiders have Day One or World's First with a cracked team that knows how to work together and that communicate. Communication makes raids work, if you have no mic or lack a spine of socializing than yes raids may seem hard. GM Nightfalls will likely be harder than a raid, GM's take patience, communication isn't vital but it helps. Dungeons don't require any communication, hence why they are soloable (RoN?). PVP, regardless of MM, expect lag, ghost bullets, and melee whiff, these are all normal D2 features which haven't changed at all. Don't expect a serious focus on PVP in Destiny, it is not a real PVP game and the really good PVP players usually play real PVP games. You want a rewarding PVP experience go play a real PVP game. No, complaining about Destiny PVP will not affect Marathon and they won't be comparable nor will they be in any way related or similar. At the end of the day you signed a user license agreement, but you don't own the game, do with that info what you will.

Don’t play ? If it gets to a point where I’m not having fun I simply don’t play. Took a break for many months started playing again about a week ago & already started feeling disinterested.

Edited by Eatz: 2/18/2024 7:59:58 PMThere wouldn’t be half as much toxicity if they had separate sandboxes for PVP and PVE. Dozens and DOZENS of pve nerfs due to PvP.

1 ReplyCbmm did nothing for the game but pander to elitist players looking for an easy game against vastly less skilled players. You ever wonder why cbmm only did so well because when cbmm was forced bungie removed 6v6sbmm from the game, but yet Everytime cbmm and sbmm are in the game like now in 6v6 modes cbmm is a dead zone. Cbmm is not wanted by the majority of players just looking for fun, it's wanted by a minority group of players looking for an easy time.

Technically, casuals are the people keeping bungie in business.

"Everyone is the problem except for ME!" is how this reads. Everyone has a chance to offer feedback. Sometimes influencers and streamers post things on platforms that get widely seen. Sometimes casuals provide feedback via forums but most often through data. Bungie is aware of who's playing, what they are playing, and how much they are playing it (or are NOT playing it). Now, if you (or anyone reading this!) need team mates or help or teaching to enjoy the game, I'm ready to assist. We will help any Guardian clear any raid or dungeon in the game, you just have to be able to talk in Discord and keep things PG, as we help all ages and abilities, so there's often younger Guardians around. My Twitch name is the same as my Bungie name. I will be helping people for 9 hours today, running raids and dungeons, and we would be happy to see you back in the game and having fun.

4 RepliesEdited by The Hermit IX: 2/17/2024 3:48:37 PMThe game isn’t ruined. That’s part of the problem with a portion of the community as far as their perception. If it’s not the version of Destiny that’s in their head it’s “ruined”. Destiny has always had ups and downs. There’s things that need to be addressed. From what I see, they’re addressing them. With that said there is zero chance that anything they do with the game will please everyone. So there will always be upset and miserable players, insisting on jamming a square peg into a round hole, while completely confused why it won’t fit.

Which raid has been made difficult? 😁
-
Casuals and elite players are basically the entire player base soooo....
-
So…the entire playerbase?
-
Nah. Bungie ruined this game with their constant nerfs and horrible expansion. Not gonna get in depth with it. And we used to think Activision was the problem.

8 RepliesReplace casuals with elitist since casuals arnt the players that put cracked builds on the Web then cry for nerfs after others start using it or use it to get the same loot as them , but yes elitist ruined this game with the help of bungie . We have elitist pvp mains that have used adapters ,network manipulation, team member swapping in trials, carries an well known streamers banned for cheating that return back to streaming d2 not long after, this is not what casuals do. We also have pvp mains that refuse for change in trials to bring in more players because ? Let's not forget majority of nerfs are from pvp an trials of osiris ,a playlist only the top 0.10 % of the playerbase enjoy an play religiously an another 5% max of other players since the games 95% pve roughly. We have pve elitist that cry the game needs to be harder because they refuse to touch grass or grasp the fact that alot of other players have a life to live an play games as a hobby not as a job or not to feel like a chore . We have pve players that get upset that someone has a title that they don't think another player earned or get upset that another player has the same loot as them even though it doesn't make that person a better player just by haveing the same loot. We also have pve players that have been major streamers banned for network manipulation in raids an trials Only thing casual players are guilty for are not completely quitting the game so bungie is forced to make the game fun again since casuals must make up atleast 90% of the community atm including yourself now considering the word casual player in d2 terms means you don't play daily . Sorry for the long essay I just turned game off after trying young ahamkara spine? The trip mine gauntlets for hunter for the first time after the nerf an wow bungie really ruined this exotic let alone alot of other exotics

Edited by IAGNRG: 2/18/2024 12:48:52 AMWhile I won’t disagree that pandering to both sides helps to ruin the game, I think there are few things that are actually difficult across the game PVE wise. For PVP, it just depends on who you face.

The problem is bungie. When they do add, or put some sort of QoL improvements on a specific thing players ask for, they go above and beyond to make it a grind, hard, and some sort of monetizing the damn thing. I mean, look at transmog. It's limited for w.e reason, and only a few bounties, and if you want more, you gotta cough up $$$ or wait till the damn vendor resets. While yes, players do have some degree to blame. The rest are in bungies filthy hands
-
You really think bungie listens to anyone?

5 RepliesCasuals, by definition, don't cry about anything, they play 30 mins a week & if they don't enjoy a game they go watch TV with their partner or read a book. Next time they gane they play a different game. Someone going out of their way to post on a game forum,i s by definition not casual.

What's difficult about the Raids? You know you can select your Dungeon difficulty, right? Same with almost every PVE activity PVP has both SBMM and CBMM modes, and we have NEVER had pure SBMM. The closest we ever got was the SBMM when it was initially added to Control. Bungie isn't catering to anyone. If anything, they're catering to everyone. One decision helps group A, but the next decision hurts them. That's the way its always been

Absolutely agree. They are a disgrace to those players that I include myself (like many of you) we have been playing since destiny 1. How they have let the game die.
