Here's the issue I have peeps... you have great ideas and concepts, and there's nothing inherently wrong with the iteration of systems and mechanics overtime.
However, failure in execution plagues morale and poisons community sentiment.
These things need to work.
The Wishes... though limited, is a good system... would be if it worked. Because, RIGHT KNOW... it gives credibility to the cynicism that everything is just a veiled hustle for monetization.
You NEED the Forsaken Pack to craft the weapons... you NEED other dlc to use some of the class specific exotics offered.
And none of that was properly communicated to the player base. That's wrong... that's bad. There's no excuse for this. If the event is "free"... the rewards should be viable for everyone and anyone.
So... fix it. Make the Forsaken Pack free. I own everything, btw... this post isn't about me. It's about that any good will is seemingly mired by controversy over what looks to be shady tactics for the purpose of monetization.
Please fix it 😇 👍💠. Every subclass should be available to everyone too... maybe you can't unlock extra aspects or fragments without the appropriate dlc... but those exotics available should be usable.
Without this stuff, even as a limited mechanic... I thought it was a great carrot to encourage players to invest more in the game... with that, naturally comes more revenue per player...
Maybe they craft one weapon, and then want to try the raid... they use Finder, join a Clan... then they're buying the deluxe every year.
So... fix it.

People were livid that a game and content that they'd paid full price for was possibly going to become free! Now it got more interesting when the original campaign was also removed, but that also meant that we had content and an experience new F2P players wouldn't get. That was ours - we'd paid for the experience and content and been able to play it. Why should more content that people have paid for suddenly become free? That could be seen as another slap in the face of people who paid for it. It'd just annoy more people.
Every subclass should be available to everyone too... maybe you can't unlock extra aspects or fragments without the appropriate dlc...
Now I do agree with you on this point - subclasses should not be tied to DLC, but if not DLC, then what? New subclasses are tied to story content, your guardian gains the abilities through the story arc - if the story isn't tied to DLC, it has to be tied to seasonal, as this is a live-service game and those are the two methods Bungie have got building on the story. Seasonal story content though is seasonal - miss the season and you miss the missions that accompany it. The only alternative is that you just suddenly gain the core ability... Now this is a whole other can of worms because the New Light experience is rough enough with all of the missions that get spammed on you. Add two more subclasses and you'll just increase the confusion. And that's why subclasses are tied to DLC - you buy the DLC and play through it, learning the subclass as you go. I don't agree with it, but it makes sense.
