My only issue with those quests is they only happen once per week. At this particular moment in the season there isn't much going on at all, and there are more months ahead of us of nothing... So why isn't this a daily opportunity to go after these materials and weapons? Why are the weapons a fixed bad roll so that there is no chance any of them will be used until they are craftable? Now... Since I have pointed out the shortsightedness of the current state of that quest, let me remind you of something. Every. Single. Time. That Bungie has added a way to quest after armor, weapons, or materials this close to a DLC the DLC has made those things obsolete. Going after golf balls? Odds are that once you are stocked up Bungie will either remove them from the game or add a new currency to the cost of masterworking armor that will be harder to come by. Something about this setup smells like a setup. Admittedly, this has become less common since DMG left, but I'm still suspicious.
