I've run into 3 console cheaters this weekend. One guy said he doesn't care because he has two accounts, another didn't deny using input cheats, and the last one went from a 1.45 trials KD last season to a 2.70 this season. He had 5 cloudstrike head shot kills and 3 unending tempest headshot kills. 100% headshot accuracy with guns he doesn't even have 1,000 kills on. I've reported the last guy in previous games I've played and nothing has been done. Bungie can't catch cheaters anymore. I've said this before but I wish more people cheated and broke this game so Bungie would actually do something about it

I always reach out to people I suspect of cheating after the match. I let them know that I reported them and that they are ruining the game for everyone. I've even reported people on my own team that clearly are using a cheat. Some laugh, some get upset and send me shade, some admit to it then go silent. I've had around 20% of the people I reach out to actually admit they are using Chroma Zen or some other controller assist cheat. One time I was told by a cheater that nothing would happen to them because their father works for Bungie. I responded to his comment and said, " so you father works for Bungie and knows you cheat...and does nothing?" At that point they stopped responding. My thought on why Bungie is so relaxed about cheaters: A large player base cheats - I've seen projections of up to 20 to 30% of the people playing the game cheat. If Bungie just banned 20 to 30% of the people playing the game it would affect their bottom line. Its all about the Money. Sure they ban the blatant cheaters or the ones the YouTubers find and document on their stream, but the ones that cheat and existing under the radar...they leave them alone...which is most of them.

2 RepliesMust be ps4 users Can’t cheat on Xbox, and ps5 is cracking down on certain hardware
-
2 RepliesXbox can detect cronus now, as well as cod, apex, and fortnite, why cant destiny
-
1 ReplyOnly 3 ? The estimate is 30 percent are cheats, so, on average, 1 on every Trials team is cheating. And I would say that's almost correct. Too many players with no history or only blue gear nailing every headshot and melting players. I've lost count of how many I've reported. It's a joke!
-
1 Replythose player count in the monthly player retention count so bungee will keep them
-
No one is getting banned Specially not if they are spending money on this hellhole Money it's the only thing that matters Also Why do you think Bungie cares about cheaters? They don't even if you bought the game full price lol

20 RepliesEdited by Coal: 2/4/2024 6:25:27 AMI’ve ran into cheaters before that openly admit they’re cheating or even stream themselves cheating. For instance, one dude I went up against a while back streamed himself cheating in competitive, got to ascendant within a day and remained up there ruining everyone’s experiences for a week, using network manipulation where he’d be running into a wall on your screen and then a jotuun shot would teleport onto you or he would melee kill you across the map. On his screen we were all running into walls and were easy targets. Anyways, this guy was cheating for OVER A WEEK. AND STREAMING IT. I actually tuned into his stream right when he got banned and have it clipped. What a glorious sight. But still a week too long. Bungie’s anti cheat is laughable. Like literally. Cheaters laugh at Bungie because it’s so bad.

1 ReplyYou've probably run into more than that. The companies creating anti cheat AI are finding between 20% and 30% of players use some kind of cheating method, either programmatically or via hardware. That's just insane.

1 ReplyConsole players confusing cheats with controllers aa is always a clasic.

Edited by XxSkull FistxX: 2/7/2024 4:47:32 AMI turned in a couple of last week that I know for sure we're cheating. One, I think, was not taking damage, even from supers and heavy weapons. The other was running around, not scoping everyone in Comp, and never missed a shot from arms length to across the map. I got messages from Bungie noting a thanks, and action has been taken.

Have to admit the skill range of the 0.8-1.1 Trials K/D players feels extremely high these days.

3 RepliesEdited by coda-jj: 2/4/2024 9:33:36 AMIt’s not just the cheating. It’s the garbage map selection on a double loot weekend when it’s a map they’ve used a million times as recently as 4 trials ago. It’s the garbage match making, it’s the matching 11 strand hunters in solo trials in 5 matches while I finally had 1 on my team on the last match, it’s making threadlings 10 more oppressive than axioms bolts when they nerfed axiom bolts because they were too aggressive. It’s the fact they know there are 1/3rd as many Hunter PvP mains as titans and warlocks but giving them a threadling nightmare aspect but warlocks are supposed to be the threadling class. It’s the nerfing of peace keepers because of the 5 great titan mains who use them but stompees are still the number one exotic and always will be. It’s the constant nerfing of anything that can counter a Hunter in PvP but than introducing something in PvP for hunters to have constant uptime on abilities. It’s the fact they have cheaters ruining weekend and instead of getting reimbursed the flawless card and a free adept weapon they say thanks 3 days after it means nothing to ban them. Sick of working my butt off for nothing. Almost ready to delete the game. Sick of it all. I know my Hunter hate is showing through, sorry but sick of the balancing act bungie does know darn well what they’re doing trying to get us to grind. The dumb part is, it’s a looter shooter, I would of tried to grind trials anyway because that’s the goal of a looter shooter. they could have so many more loyal players if they didn’t intentionally try to unbalance PvP because they think pissing people off keeps the hamster on the wheel. You’re wrong bungie, it runs players off because the carrots taste like horse manure. Please balance PvP better in the next dlc. I’m not asking warlocks and titans to be over powered but please make everything balanced. Including the void over shield, warlock stasis gloves and dragon shadow and any of the new aspects. Especially the 3 new ones. Let players play as they want and not a forced meta that gets me to hate hunter subclass x each and every season

5 RepliesIt’s mostly Xbox they can easily plug in a m&k vs us controller players
-
lol They arent even banning cheaters on PC with their make-believe battleye..nothing will be done about them on console. Maybe Xbox can follow PS with banning ext input
-
I knew something was going on! Took a break to come back to a whole mess of about hackers. At least in other games when you report cheaters they actually look into it and do something about it. Destiny has got to -blam!-! Pure doo-doo.
-
1 ReplyBungie doesnt care.
-
Well there are all kinds now. Xbox needs to make them incompatible withe the console. Everything from the non verified controller to the other stuff.
-
R6 implemented mouse trap, and that was fantastic... for all of 3 months. Eventually these cheater input companies push out their latest software updates and become undetectable again. Other than banning all after-market peripherals, I don't see how this is fixed. As long as the specs are available, companies can make any input device match that of a "legit" controller.
-
People cheating and not getting punished? Stop the -Blam!-ing presses
-
Hush, keep it down down, voices carry
-
Bungie: Cheaters add to the player count too! Marathon is all that matters now.
-
Well there is no real security team so yeah not much banning will be happening 🤷🏼♂️
-
2 RepliesBungie is doing something about it. Its called Marathon with new code that will take some time to crack . It will be good for awhile then the cheats always find their way back in. Its a battle to keep the cheats out. They make money from them. As long as people buy them the problem will remain. The thing with destiny is its a 10 year old game ,no doubt it would have plenty of cheaters by now. Online pvp would need a complete make over in most games not just in destiny to make them more secure. They would have to use AI in ways that would be scary and maybe even a invasion of privacy .
-
15 RepliesIt's unfair to expect Bungie to do something that no other game or company had been able to do.
-
1 ReplyPlayStation has banned kids from using cronus and I’ve noticed a difference since that update. My win ratio in trials is a lot higher now because kids don’t have their aim bots 🤣 So me using my after market controller is a advantage again.
-
9 RepliesI heard ps is taking some steps to help. steam might start taking steps since it’s one of their top games. microsoft probably forgot that destiny even exists. Their priorities are with Halo, CoD, and SoT where most of their player base is.
