This exotic is one of the rarest items in game, with less than 1% of all players owning it (per warmind.io). In 9 weeks, I've only seen 1 person actually have it drop out 81 people I've cleared the dungeon with. Out in the wild, I've only played with 6 players who had it since the dungeon launched. Even with exotic boosters, it has yet to drop for me any many others.
I purpose that the initial dungeon quest all players get, should retroactively buff the drop rate by 25% for anyone who has completed the quest. Given how long it was to complete and that its also a requirement to unlock the catalyst, not to mention the final reward was rather disappointing, this seems like a fair option to me, especially since the exotic boosters likely only buff the drop chance by 1-5% each.
I get this is a long season, but I feel it's unfair to punish players by artificially making a rare drop item nearly impossible to get due to extremely low rng as some sources suggest it has a drop chance of 1% or less while most raid and other dungeon exotics typically have a starting drop chance around 5%.

I just bought the dungeon key only to find out about the lack of farm ability and abysmal drop rates via reddit and google searches. I regret buying it, and likely won't be spending another dime on the game due to the fact bungie basically hides the fact that it may never drop despite having paid for it. I was going to convince my cousins to buy the expansions so they could play with me but definitely not anymore. Truly despicable business practice imho.

Like Hawpy said
By comparison, the other weapons from Warlord's Ruin are sitting around 0.8 - 0.9% global and 2.0 - 2.5% adjusted rarities. Thus, assuming no one has been unlucky enough to only have armour drops, somewhere between 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 players who have beaten Warlord's Ruin have obtained Buried Bloodline by now. When it has been out for a couple of months, that's still rare, but it's a far cry from 1 in 81.
The way Warmind.io presents ownership statistics for weapons is that global rarity is of all players to have ever played the game, and adjusted rarity is players who have put at least 10 hours in. For Buried Bloodline, these are 0.276% and 0.7% respectively. By comparison, the other weapons from Warlord's Ruin are sitting around 0.8 - 0.9% global and 2.0 - 2.5% adjusted rarities. A 3% drop rate increase isn't a fitting reward for a solo flawless if simply completing it a few times grants a 25% increase.

The game needs more rare loot, not less.

I just want the chance to get the weapons o pay for in this game and yeah running the dungeon like a hundred times and still not getting it is bs. Hell I've also been trying to get vex mythoclast for years. I've not gotten a single dungeon or raid exotic and it's not exactly easy to find the time to run this crap that many times

1 ReplySolo flawless it and get 3 buffs to drop rate🙂

1 ReplyWild. This is the only dungeon exotic I've gotten twice. 🤷♂️

Bungie doesn't care, we all know that, they nerfed droprates on everything I still do not have Thorn caty despite running enough strikes that i will reset my vanguard rank soon if i switch to doing a few nightfalls instead It used to be so much better before back in WQ

I think I have around 25 clears now, plus have the dungeon title, but am yet to get the exotic. Seems to be very rare indeed from what I've seen.
