Please remove commendation score from Guardian Ranks
I can not count how many times I've completed an activity where nobody hands out commendations. Having commendations score as a requirement to increase Guardian Ranks feels terrible. I shouldn't be locked out of my next rank because other players can't be bothered to give out commendations, and I can't blame them either. Commendations can be funny accolades you hand out, but shouldn't be req for Guardian Ranks

i assume most people only give commendations if they need any themselves, because in general most of us are a**holes. and studios live in wonderland, where all people are rainbow puking unicorns, that's why they assume commendations would work. if you lack any, hit me up and we clear some dungeons to get you blue ones. sadly not farmable anymore, since you get some kind of cooldown which prevents commending the same team mates over and over again in the same activity.

4 RepliesWithout negative ones all they serve as is fluff. The number is completely meaningless with the current system. Which makes tying it to progression one of their dumbest decisions. Only thing stopping me from rank 11 last season was commendations. Not content.

For starters for the people who don’t know, you get score for handing them out. Raids are the easiest way to communicate with people and get the most score, which you have to do anyways to get high ranks. If they made a system where they want to highlight people who play well with others, can do hard content, and have a decent time investment in the game why would they not have a system designed to increase a score the more you play with others and don’t play toxicly?

I spam them in pve, I only give them out on a win in pvp and gambit.

Since they probably won't remove it, they should just change it to GIVE commendations so that my own progress is not hindered by someone ELSE to do something.

I'll be honest. I have forgotten commendations are a thing. I've just been doing strikes and activities and leaving once the activity ends.

If my bar is all red and green, it simply means I play a lot of playlist activities. And I am so sick and tired of the worst person in the LFG raid team begging for heroic commendations. They had good intentions but ultimately mean nothing. People get em by begging.

I'd be nice if they'd remove the unlock for the second half of the loadouts as well. There was absolutely no reason to make them reliant on guardian rank.

They can just remove Guardian ranks. They mean nothing. I've been to max rank just to say I did and then never bothered again. Think I remained a 7 or 8 every season since then. We asked for a hundred things and bungie gave us this worthless trash

It’s purely there to ‘force’ play time IMO. Cant think of any other reason why these are linked. If you didn’t want the rank number you probably aren’t going to force yourself into an activity you only half want to do to get the points. I put the word force in quotes because the obvious alternative is to just not care about the rank number.
