I know what everyone is going to say - "population is down" - "matchmaking is always bad" - no, this is different. Something is going on. Very good players are getting matched with very bad players, and of course lobby balancing feels random AT BEST.
Just had a match where the efficiencies of one team ranged from 1.7 to 12.5 and the other ranged from .4 to .9. It was a pointless match. Nobody learned anything, the outcome was a foregone conclusion before it even began.
What's going on?

The D2 matchmaking rules are as follows: Twelve players are picked at random. The six best are put in one team. The other six are put into the other team. That’s it. If the skill levels of all 12 players are close then it’s a close match. If the skill range is wide it’s a mercy.
