I had a thought, should eris become addicted to the power she gotten and wanted more. Hunting xivu Arath for her power. Episode heresy could be hunting xivu and returning eris back.

Closer poll than I was expecting. Considering she essentially does go rogue with power in Elsie's timeline I suppose you already have your wish.

Yes, it just goes back to the sentiment there are no stakes in Destiny , everyone comes back , and nothing matters in the end It would have meant more if she sacrificed the rest of her Humanity to defeat Xivu and Witless She took tythes of violence , from the most notorious killers in the universe, she should be Oryx Kingsfall size with her own throne world , or atleast been stuck in her Hive form permanently Would have also made her and the Drifters love story more special , would he still accept her that way, flirting on the edge of a dark future Would have also tested Ikoras loyalty to her But nope , everything goes back to normal like the season never happened , and we won by a technicality in a lore card lol, no wonder nobody buying this crap anymore -
Edited by Amazinite: 1/22/2024 6:29:08 PMYes. I was surprised when the second week of the season, she walked up to us completely normal. We're approaching the end. Drastic times call for drastic measures. This should've been a rubicon that we crossed and could have never gone back from: Eris sacrificing her humanity to save everyone she knows and loves. Give us some personal stakes to the story. "Everyone will die if we don't succeed" are boring stakes. We need people to be sacrificing for our survival. And while we know that we've already strayed from the timeline of the Dark Future lore book, it'd be interesting if Eris did permanenly become a Hive, suggesting that we haven't strayed as far as we might have thought.

4 RepliesI don't know if it could have worked, I'm thinking the Vex probably simulated it... is my point... But I would have had her keep the power, we should have crushed Immaru... Then killed Xivu... Then kill the Witness, because that's what Savathun is going to do. All that power went back to her... it always goes to the strongest. We essentially consolidated Hive power then gave it back to Savathun. That was a mistake. The season before that we invocated the darkness all the season, taking Ahsa (my theory). And I don't think many of the eggs we saved will actually survive.

3 RepliesI don't think she should have "become" a Hive at all. Why did she physically become a Hive at all? Why would the Sword Logic be somehow tied to Hive biology?

Edited by Lore Oradon: 1/22/2024 12:40:52 AM
Episode heresy could be hunting xivu and returning eris back.
Nope. If you look through hive lore, the only time Heresy is mentioned is involving Nokkris and Necromancy. necromancy goes against the Sword Logic. The most logical outcome is, necromancy which Savathun knows from Nokkris, Will use it to bring back Oryx. Season of the Deep pointed in that direction as his Worm is still alive containing his memory's. Savathun uses Oryxs evolved worm to get memories, and uses Necromancy to bring him back. While Xivu makes a last attempt to stop Savathun. Oryx even acknowledged this in lore, that he never wants to be brought back(especially) with necromancy, as he would consider it..Heresy.

Edited by Shockwave 989: 1/21/2024 6:51:40 PMNo, because Eris as we know her was turned from that path in Shadowkeep. The Guardian supporting her in her research into the Lunar Pyramid and the Exo Stranger teaching her how to control Stasis broke that possibility long ago. Eris was the most ridiculous character to chose for this question in the seasonal narrative because she has been THE most dependable and trustworthy character throughout this entire franchise. Guided us to defeat both Crota and Oryx. Helped breach the Lunar Pyramid and dispel the Nightmares on multiple occasions. Interpreted the messages from the Pyramid on Io. Assisted us in our investigation into Savathûn acquiring the Light. It’s one of my core complaints about Witch honestly.

Eris is the best and awesomest as a human. The Hive her just didn't really feel exactly like *her* y'know? Plus I think the ending where she didn't turn to Darkness is a lot cooler. It shows more about her character. Like back in season of the Witch, instead of her being hateful and angry she was wise and did the right thing so she could protect humanity, and I think that's a much better ending and helps to show where she is now and how she doesn't feel sad and alone, she's happier, especially cause she has her Drifter 😊
