3rd party devices in crucible
So now they…checks notes… allow MnK to be used on console with aim assist and now don’t just compensate for recoil but actively track your shooting pattern so your shots become laser beams.
As a console player I felt we were sort of safe from cheaters but i guess that time is up.
Bungie will ban these right? Right? Riggght?

2 RepliesThe year is 2025. I log in to Destiny 2 via neural link and start up my first crucible match. The game mode is mayhem. Everything is going fine. I’m using supers and slaying guardians. A heavy ammo reserve transmats in, but I fail to acquire it when a stasis hunter drops silence and squall during my interaction. I watch as the hunter grabs the heavy ammo. My noses begins to run with the smell of rust. Confused and consumed with revenge, I search for the stasis hunter. The match is nearly over. They haven’t popped up in the feed yet, I know they’re running around with that heavy ammo still. As I turn a corner I see the hunter standing near a ledge. Before I can even fire a shot off, the hunter uses a shatterskating macro. The command overloads my neural link, shortfusing it in my head. I dead.

2 RepliesThey have stated this in a previous TWAB, however I have yet to see them take action on anyone abusing third party hardware. They fired the security team and we all know Bungie hasn’t cared about PVP for the past 3 years. The sad part is there are literally people on YouTube that demonstrate how it removes all recoil direction and still no actions have been taken. Third party hardware along with SBMM in casual playlists are killing all PVP. But hey…. 4 billion dollar company

Is your name Patrick? Because you've been living under a rock Xim and Cronus have been issues for years. They're the plague of console gaming. Fortunately, lots of companies are taking a stronger stance on banning these devices, so maybe we will see some progress in the next few years. Unfortunately, even the companies that have taken a stand are struggling to enforce their rule set.

Only going to get worse ! No security team now and zero effort being put into pvp . Player numbers dwindling rapidly . Played 3 rounds of control and each game there were never 2 6 man teams , people constantly dropping out , big wait times ….surprised more people are playing .

And these 3rd party devices all work because of aim assist. Maybe controllers should be retired for a better input method so that aim assist is not needed anymore, otherwise stuff like this will always exist.

Riggght?[/quote] They make a controller now with aim assist and recoil reduction. Bungie won't do anything. They can't afford to lose more players...so this kind of -blam!- is here to stay. On the other hand microsoft is looking to disable any none licensed accessories so that might work...but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Once Bungie got to the point of laying people off, they probably stopped R&D on cheating tech. It's a very expensive, never-ending battle.

2 RepliesWhile these things are issues, the unfortunate truth is destiny is plagued by far more problems than devices. We need cbmm in sixes, lobby balancing, new maps (id take even all the vaulted ones back), new modes that work, ability tuning(looking at threadlings) and meaningful loot to chase. These are just a few of the issues we face that impact everyone. Devices, hate to break it to ya, they're not nearly in as many lobbies as ya think, especially on console.

"now" lmao Brother that's literally what those devices have been used for for years. People have been keyboarding on console via zem and coronas for their entire existence, unfortunately.

But the people that wouldn't be able to deal with them already melt without all the protections anyways. If you are someone that comes on here and calls yourself a casual as a means to get the game to work the way you want it to, you're already benefiting from much more than a device.
