I truly don’t understand why when I am playing crucible solo I am matching up against people with twice the k/d that I have and are obviously much much better than I am. If it’s SBMM shouldn’t they be playing against people of their own skill? I’m matching against people with hundreds of trials card completions and 2.0/3.0+ kds. I barely have a 1.4 ?

4 RepliesFact is, you will NEVER have these perfect games of everybody having a .6 kd playing against each other. Plain and simple, the player population DOES NOT support sbmm. If you look at games that use it, prime example being cod, they have 50k-100k ACTIVE players in the playlist at any given time. D2 has currently only 70k TOTAL players engaging in the game. The active player base in PvP is significantly lower. As a result, you’re seeing the other playlist move to CBMM. This has to occur because the algorithms for sbmm have failed and are not able to be supported with such a minimal player base to select from. Most people don’t realize how low the population really is. This is mainly due to the lack of quality content over the last 1.5 years for PvE in combination with the destruction of crucible due to Bungie catering to the casual player who does not routinely play D2.

It's not even something to be angry about anymore it's just disappointing... My latest game I join at the end and see a dude with 2 kills figure he must have just joined as well but then notice he's 0.10 combat efficiency... I'm sick of seeing people fed to the wolves how many experiences like that does it take to decide you have better ways to spend your time. No wonder the game is dying...

If SBMM were stricter, you'd just be complaining about lag and queue times. I'm sorry, but even though I prefer close games, I don't want to wait 5+ minutes for a laggy game of Control You can't have everything you want, and the "loose" SBMM is the compromise.

1 ReplyThe only place that has sbmm is comp. Do like many of us and quit playing until they make casuals a 6v6 Playlist.

7 RepliesIt's not fully sbmm anymore, that's why matchmaking is all over the place. They said themselves, it's hard for them to balance lobbies without sbmm.

Welcome to the crucible, have some tea while you’re at it. It’s been a mess for a while.

You don’t understand? The PvP team is incompetent they have no idea what they are doing.

Yeah same feeling here

There probably isn't enough people playing to match precisely by k/d, which isn't a very precise measurement to begin with.
