Competitive - Penalty for leaving matches
I shouldn't get a warning for leaving a match when I'm the last player in the match on my team. Take all the point you want, strip me down to bronze if you want, but let me leave the match without penalizing my game time.
What am I supposed to do? Stay in the match and let the other 3 players k/d farm me. They won when my teammates left the match, just let me move on to my next match.

1 ReplyIn my opinion it should end the match if 2 of the 3 players on one team leave. 1v3 is basically impossible and no one is going to win that fight and it's not fair at all that you have to stay and get K/D farmed because your teammates abandoned you. If it gets to that point the game should automatically end and obviously you'd still lose and the other team would still win but you wouldn't get K/D farmed because the game would end early. That or because some people would still be down to do a 1v3 bungie should add a system that if you're the last remaining player on your team you no longer get penalized for leaving the match and the game gives you the option to give up and end the game so you don't have to get K/D farmed. Yeah Bungie should add an option that if you're the last remaining player on a team in comp you should have a new option to "give up" and forfeit the match because you have no teammates so it's completely understandable that you would no longer want to continue playing that match since you no longer have any teammates to play with.

3 RepliesThe minimum it shouldn't detract you any points. Rather award you some for playing short-handed. But don't apply logic. I guess some will say, hey, that mechanic then got abused by players farming points by deliberately leaving teams. Whatever. I admit having left games myself when I saw players in the opposite team destroying me/my team who should have no business playing against me in comp. I am currently running around bronze I/silver III. Why do I need to play against flawless/glorious/unbroken players? A "placement" game of a minimum Platinum player testing whether he can beat me? Really? I know the outcome before the game even started.

2 RepliesThey should do it how Overwatch used to. Person leaves and it initiated a 1 minute timer. If the game doesn’t end in that time you can leave without penalty.

1 ReplyYeah, I don't play a lot but if I'm one of the 3 I back off...no need to "up" my stats that I can't live up too. If I'm the 1....I'll fight to the end knowing I've already lost and it ends the match quicker

A lot of times a team of 3 will play super passively. I try to make sure the enemy player by himself gets some kills even if it’s cheap and pity

Unfortunately that's what people do when they lose, they leave the game. I wish there was something that could be done

I think countdown rush is the bigger issue. It’s a horrible game mode and people constantly leave. 100% agree when you’re the last person standing that you shouldn’t be penalized.

If a match is a 1v3, they should have a surrender option. It shouldn't be automatic like a mercy just in case you want to try anyway, but they should definitely have an out for situations like that

The amount of AFk players I see in comp is alarming. Makes for a terrible experience.

I loaded into a match in trials yesterday and my teammates dced or left before the match even started. I chose to leave because I’m not good enough to 1v3 and lo and behold I get a 30 minute timeout for leaving an unfair game. I wish they would implement a matchmaking check that would about matchmaking when the teams are uneven.
