We lost two melee's in the form of pocket singularity. Which should have never been the case. Give us back atomic breach and soul rip as another option.Pocket singularity doesn't even allow for you to utilize a melee based gauntlet effectively in both pvp and pve. Due to piss poor damage.
Pocket singularity has more draw backs then actual utility. Most of the time, it can't find its target, tickles somome, or launches someone towards you. He'll sometimes it will require 3 melee attempts to kill someone.
Now, I don't know when this was changed, but you can't even wombo with magnetic gernades and pocket singularity as it no longer will kill. Resulting in two burned abilities for nothing.
Making someone volatile has no real implication, killing someone who's volatile won't even proc devour. Volatile targets won't even detonate if you still kill in the optimal ttk. Resulting in again no benefit to volatile targets.
Axion bolts are nerfed buth treadlings are okay

Edited by Revirian: 1/13/2024 5:50:16 PMThe 3.0 changes was them essentially giving everyone the warlock keywords which just turned warlocks into buff slaves as that’s really all we have. You can’t do many activities without warlock buffs so warlocks essentially never get to run anything mildly interesting. And when final shape comes out they are nerfing well so essentially we’ll become useless.

Member when we could eat grenades for devour? Then they took that away AND nerfed devour duration. Good times

2 Repliesmate its warlock. hunter fans will hate you for your post and hunter fans will scream if bungo ever balance warlock abilities to be as strong, useful n fast as hunter has em :P Warlocks will be always something you will have to tweak a lot to make it ok, it will never be strong class. Thats why you had those changes

1 Reply3.0 really didn't add a lot to Voidwalker, it simply took its best parts and gave them to Titan and Hunter without giving much in return. Of the 6 Void keywords, Voidwalker only has good access to 2 of them through its Aspects and abilities, being Devour and Weaken. As you say, Pocket Singularity's Volatile is worthless. It needs Fragments to use Void Invisibility, Void Overshield and Volatile (Rounds), and the Suppressor Grenade is the only means of Suppression. Until the recent changes, full-strength Devour was given to every class for a miniscule cost, which was the only reason to use Voidwalker. It has the worst melee in the game, Chaos Accelerant was arbitrarily capped at one Fragment slot for far too long, Handheld Supernova was nerfed and also tied to a grenade that was not originally available to the subclass, and its Supers are pitiful. Every Voidwalker build boils down to getting Devour somehow and using one or two abilities; either the same Vortex Grenade Contraverse Hold we've had for 5 years, or Child of the Old Gods via Briarbinds.

5 RepliesSubclass 3.0 in general was bad for the game imo.
-
Still better than what they did to solar 3.0

4 RepliesEdited by An Engram Full Of Bees: 1/11/2024 3:45:50 PMPocket Singularity is ridiculously underrated. It’s not perfect and it doesn’t work on bosses, but being able to hadouken enemies away from you in a sticky situation can be a real get-out-of-jail-free card.

These are my ideas to bring Void back. Supers: Nova Bomb: Make the default super the projectile version. The vortex version isn't really even that useful and isn't that helpful unless you're dealing with a massive amount of adds. Nova Warp: Increase damage in PvE to make it more in line with other supers in PvE. Charged attacks apply volatile. Melee: We need to have 2 different melees, so the old melee from D1. That melee was really good at granting grenades, and I think this would work well with the Void identity as a whole. And have pocket singularity as a second choice. It's still decent but would need some tweaks.

1 ReplyOnce again another block account talking BS again…. Void warlock has its place in the game.

1 ReplyEdited by Cheat: 1/11/2024 3:38:25 PMThe only things it needs IMO are: 1. Add at least another melee option. 2. Make chaos accelerant automatic for grenades (keep in line with solar warlock and arc titan nades) 3. Add back the hold grenade to consume for devour proc from the old bottom tree. This would make the subclass perfect. Edit: the one thing the subclass DOES need is some reworks to some of the exotics. Secant Filaments should proc devour on ANY subclass now that Buried Bloodline can do the same on any class. No reason not to. Then the Skull of Dire Ahamkara should be reworked to do something else. Maybe make it like that solar blade barrage exotic (forget the name)? IDK it needs something though. Then they could modify contraverse hold to do something else. Maybe replace the above mentioned "eat grenade" with a FURTHER buffed grenade type? Might be too strong. Just an idea.

7 RepliesIt's still good in pvp better then most supers because of its mechanic. Its a instant, fire one and walk away, killer
-
6 RepliesAt least in Mayhem it's the go to subclass. I am a Titan main but for that seasonal Mayhem challenge guess what I put on? The cheesiest quick loading super ever. Works always. In normal PvE I believe it still is a very good class, end game I can't tell.

No. Contraverse Hold Build makes it amazing. Then there are a lot of Weaken and Volatile builds you can build around too.
-
Edited by The Hermit IX: 1/11/2024 3:25:31 PMHard disagree as a Voidlock at heart. Briars with Child is brilliant and has an absurd combination of power and survivability. Contraverse build is the same and excellent in more difficult content. Blink build in PVP is really strong. They just need to buff Nova Bombs a bit more and add a second melee to make it perfect.

Most void 3.0 things I actually like better. What I still miss most is being able to eat my nade to proc devour. Getting devour on a kill is nice and all, but it's just not as reliable that way
-
1 ReplyAre you high or just bad? Voidwalker 3.0 is infinitely superior to that restrictive setup they had before. Anyone who claims otherwise is just bad at the game. Possibly incapable of making a proper build.
-
1 ReplyVoid lock is great, what are you talking about?
-
2 RepliesAre you mostly talking about pvp??? Give it a rest, bungie doesn't want any abilities to be good in pvp
-
I ll take void 2.0 all day of the week over 3.0
-
Quit talking, if you get them to change something they'll do some goofy -blam!- like make Blink an alternate rift ability.
-
Go over to the gameplay category and like more post then. I suggest updating chaos accelerant so that you can charge pocket singularity in addition to grenades. Charging up PS removes tracking, volatile, and knock back, but increases velocity by 2x and damage by 4x. Then update Contraverse Holds to also work with PS in addition to grenades.

More options are always better than a single option, which is of course not an option at that point. Both other light subclasses have two melee options, so it really does not make sense for Void to have only one. The Cataclysm supers could use some love as well, as they feel much weaker than anything else in PvE content. Other than that, I really like Void 3.0 as opposed to the locked skill trees.

I hate that there isn't a regular melee for VW. Love VW, hate the melee.
