Season of the Wish Ascendant Challenge Soft Lock
Today is 1/9/24, and I am currently on step 35 of 55 in the “Wishing All the Best” Quest Line. The step is asking that I finish an ascendant challenge, but when I collect the chest at the end of the Keep of Honed Edges, I am not given the “Taken Essence” Item that is necessary for progression. Additionally, the quest tracking marker is marking a point way above me in the sky at what I assume is the ascendant challenge from the week the quest step came out. I believe the quest item is only dropping from the original ascendant challenge chest, and will not be available until the challenge comes back around in the 6 week rotation. I will not be able to surpass this soft lock until a patch is implemented, or I wait 4 more weeks.

5 RepliesOkay. This is the one with the sword relic, yes? It's notoriously weird in that you must collect the chest while carrying the sword and then take the sword out of the portal with you, and once you're back in Harbingers, run a ways towards the main area of Harbingers with the sword relic. That should trigger the ascendant challenge completed. It's always been an odd one. Just grabbing the chest isn't enough to finish this one. You have to bring the relic back to the dreaming City.
