Implicit trust issues.
Sure he seems like a decent person, but...
A)Don't truly know what's on the other side
B)Don't know if it could affect time or reality as a whole
C)Currently we don't appear to be truly pressed for time
Anyways, [WE] wouldn't send him.

24 RepliesEdited by jhermannITJ: 1/9/2024 1:21:17 AMI wouldn't let Crow go either, but not because I don't trust him. It's because I don't trust Mara. Some of Crow's choices weren't a part of "The Plan". What if this one IS? That's my concern. Didn't seem natural to me... I think Mara was gaslighting us and her brother with the culmination this week. "You WILL return to me". If she Mara Sov has, from the beginning, used and manipulated her brother... who's whispers corrupted Uldren? Riven says it was NOT her. What secrets did Mara "steal"... what methods of the darkness has she utilized? That's why I'm worried about Crow. What's "The Plan"? Why are we just hearing about it now? However, I do think Crow knows about his sister... I think he's finally made the choice, this is when he's at his best... as a counter puncher.

Edited by PhNx Hellfire: 1/11/2024 8:23:55 AM
Implicit trust issues.
Sure. I'm happy he's gone. This will help redeem him- Uldren, not crow, is going to betray someone or something eventually. Only thing I would change is that my titan spartan kicks him into the portal instead of him leaping into it.
Sure he seems like a decent person, but...
No. Memories back? "Hey. Uldren? Enjoy your time with the witness for five months of no reinforcements!"
A)Don't truly know what's on the other side
I'm glad we don't know and as a result, uldren went first.
B)Don't know if it could affect time or reality as a whole
Even better. Five months out here for five decades in there is what I hope happens!
C)Currently we don't appear to be truly pressed for time
Back to the normal day to day patrols and saying hi to Xur and the Steed then!
Anyways, [WE] wouldn't send him.
Fog of War dictates someone make the jump. I would GLADLY go first armed with the knowledge that I get to merc anything on the other side, for free, and will potentially be there for infinite amounts of time until someone else figures out a way inside. But if not me getting the ride? At least it's someone I don't trust because that guy deserves to be murdered again for originally killing cayde.

Edited by Seki: 1/11/2024 2:26:24 AM
Wouldn't allow the crow to go
Why not. Let him go through and enjoy the remaining time before the Witness grabs us without Crow.
Sure he seems like a decent person, but...
Are we playing the same game? Ever since he is part of our team, his voicelines in strikes and missions have been childish and/or arrogant (without any signs of skill to back that up). O: 'The red war has proven the Cabal have no limits' C: 'Then let's give them some' is what he says while sitting in his chair, eating a cup of slightly tea'd sugar - being an annoyance in our comms - while we mindlessly slaughter some hundred cabals without having an effect on any part of the outside world.
A)Don't truly know what's on the other side
What exactly do we have to lose apart from potentially having wasted that wish for the gate?
B)Don't know if it could affect time or reality as a whole
Whatever. Judging by Ikora's and Cayde's cooldowns we already have time magicians in our ranks, thus reality is lost regardless. Next we find ourselves grabbing the stupid infinity stones from inside the traveler. Anyway I would send him.

9 RepliesEdited by CrimzonReaper: 1/10/2024 4:21:44 PMWe really didn’t have much of a choice, he went because his connection with Mara means we can follow his path, nobody else has a connection like that with anyone else, so if they sent us instead we’d be there alone because they wouldn’t be able to follow our path through. You don’t need to trust them, you just need to trust they don’t want to be wiped out with everything else if the Witness wins.

Uldren-Crow is a victim of being betrayed and manipulated and betrayed by QMara…Savathun…Spyder et al… He is more to be pitied than blamed. His ‘redemption’ occurred when he exorcised his ‘demons’ in WQ…as did Cmdr. Zavala…therefore, as ‘Crow’ - he is a true and honourable Guardian of the highest order, imho.👈 Also, if he’s tasked to venture forth through the portal link, it would be cool if Cayde’s there waiting for him - to forgive him and to help with the mission; and for Amanda to be there too for a bit of ‘yeehah!’ Cowboy stuff, which will make Crow (and Amanda) very happy indeed! 🎭🤠🎭 QMara’s the one to watch…🤔 Just my 2d worth. YMMV. 👈 Ease springs! 🫡

2 RepliesEdited by xbroggiex: 1/8/2024 11:30:23 PMSimple solution to this stupid story element. Retcon it being 1 person and instead it is 7 people that can enter, this would canonize your 6 player fireteam that would enter for the raid and the 7th being Crow. Then we can have us enter the portal and fight through and start losing to the witness then suddenly all of our allies appear so Bungie can have their super epic cool Avengers infinity war endgame moment :O Big missed opportunity to raise the stakes when the story is demanding stakes but... eh, what can you do with these hack writers? Which are more interested in inter-character drama instead of the Sci-fi Fantasy elements of the story. If Bungie plans on doing another "saga" of Destiny with the current incompetents they are going to be in a corner narratively very quickly.

We had to send him in there to recycle old content for us to play 6 months from now...

5 RepliesI've hated crow since we 1st met him in D1, smug attitude.. Personally, I still hope to kill him one day
-
Wouldn't it be great if the crow crosses over and cayde6 is there waitng and shoots him in the face

4 RepliesYou act as though we don't already know how the Season is going to end. This is why you don't spoil the next major expansion before the final Season's story is done Bungie.

Edited by MC 077 Lasombra: 1/12/2024 1:02:54 AM1. Doesn’t matter, no choice. 2. Doing nothing is guaranteed to be worse. 3. Since we do not knowing what’s going on inside to gauge it from the outside? Hard to say. We definitely should, as it’s the only way. And just like Savathun having a Ghost made just for her, this shows the Traveler had it all planned out. Which means these far flung ideas won’t pan out. 😎

3 RepliesI mean unless someone proposes a better option 🤷🏻♂️ Currently we either send the guardian alone. With no backup, ever. Or risk sending crow in hopes that Mara will be able to use their connection to open a more permanent gateway.
-
We should shove Legend of Acrius down his throat and pull the trigger. Due justice for murdering the Vanguard

1 ReplyHate the bugger send him first is the way to go.

5 RepliesI semi-agree we shouldn’t send him yet, although it wasn’t necessarily planned this way story wise it will be a long time before in game we would actually be able to follow him into the traveler and it would be unwise to wait any longer than we absolutely have to. This is because of multiple variables: 1. Mara has yet to genuinely test to see if she can locate him using anything like the veil 2. We don’t know anything about the pale heart and how it interacts with space time; it’s possible that time could move faster or slower at the pale heart relative to the universe (at least locally) 3. Although crow has proven resilient, and is a capable scout, he could be discovered and killed before we could get to him and this would uproot any actual attempt to enter the traveler. With all of this to consider if we had an impact on how this story played out and removed what has been spoiled via FS previews and leaks, the risk of sending crow, until we have even an estimated time scale is to risky to attempt haphazardly. So I semi-agree with that we shouldn’t send crow, yet.

If I could have anything in this game, it wouldn't be weapon buffs, more in-game rewards, a Neomuna I could patrol without feeling like I'm in a GM Nightfall, no, it'd be for Crow to get shot in the face, and when he pulls out ole Porky Pig for a revive, he gets hard denied. Like dude, even your ghost don't like you.
-
7 RepliesA - A reason to send an expendable person. B - Would be the same for anyone sent through, including us. C - We are. In-game, anyways. We are trying to get through the portal ASAP. We're being slowed down by Riven in-game and developers IRL. But yeah, we should definitely send Crow. Expendable as hell lol.
-
1 ReplyConsidering most guardians that entered got blended and bisected, yeah I’ll send that guy first to at least put down a transmit beacon.

2 RepliesWe? I’m sorry, Architect, but at this moment, he is quite literally the most useless character in the game. I’m sorry, but when you stand in the Helm all day, talking to yourself, it doesn’t bode well for those who already dislike you. And I LIKE Crow. So you can see the predicament.
