Iron Banner Eruption idea
Yes, the game mode mostly sucks. BUT, here's a way it could be exciting.
Instead of just waiting for your eruption timer running down and then automatically dying, how about your body explodes when it gets to zero, with a huge Thundercrash-like explosion?
That way you can go in and kamikaze the enemy team in a final blaze of glory.

The PvP is just not good enough to make a difference. They do not seem to understand PvP at all. They have lost players because it is so bad.

I understand there are people who claim to like it, but a mode that punishes the low skilled more than usual, yet at the same time punishes the high skilled seems asinine. It is easier to snowball and farm the hell out of low skilled players due to the additional ability and super regen. High skilled players at some point have to end their own streaks by jumping off the map. When the smartest and best play by a high skilled player dominating, is to suicide off a ledge. The game mode is intrinsically stupid. I like your idea though. At least it provides entertainment to the suicide. Eruption also is counterintuitive to what Bungie is trying to do with Checkmate. Bungie is obviously leaning towards lower uptimes on all abilities, so much so that it tried to force checkmate onto everyone, yet it’s giving us Eruption for the week. Bungie’s inability to stick to any course, but instead wavering on issues whenever there are complaints is what is killing the game. They go back and forth without ever having any conviction. Bungie seems to not realize that when there are complaints. There are also people silent who are satisfied with the status quo.

I like it better then dealing with another control variant mode I'm sick of playing objective modes in this game

Game mode is very fun, people just hate being forced to move instead of sitting in a corner all match.

I’ll add to that: it kills allies *and* enemies. And yes, it one-shots supers. That will be hilarious to see. Imagine stasis punching an eruption back into their own team and accidentally blowing up their entire team

Maybe if the kamikaze gave bonus points for killing enemies with it, I could see the idea working. I just think in general that suicides should make your team lose a point. But I know people will disagree. Regardless, there will always be a problem with suicides. Either it's a get-out-of-feeding-the-enemy-team-free gimmick as it is or it's a "yeah, the game will judge your performance appropriately" type of deal but then teammates might grief the team score.
