90% of the time I get curb stomped. I'm not very good. Can I play other folks that aren't good? My win % today is 18 so far. With a KD of 0.7. Shouldn't SBMM (if it was actually working) be closer to 50% and 1.0?

You have to buy the competitive balance pass for this season, 5000 silver

2 RepliesIf it was SBMM, you wouldn't get stomped.
-
It's not sbmm, they said a long time ago that that was erroneous but they've never fixed it lol ... it's been years. Just do what I do; just enough so you don't get kicked and watch a movie.

2 RepliesAll I want is just one -blam!- match where I get the good team that stomp it’s just -blam!- I just want a normal game not greasy virgins that breathe pvp

Best way to earn points (for pinnacles not necc. wins) in Iron Banner: Normal - Capture zones, Kill opponents when you hold 2 or more zones, Defending zones (difficult) Fortress - Capture and neutralize zones. Use your super and/or heavy ammo to destroy the Cabal turrets (most points) Eruption - (a) Follow the group and team shoot. (b) Stay at the edges of the map and plink away with a scout rifle. All game modes - Use a bow.

Just seems to be the way this game mode works. I'm pushing for the IW Title at the moment so playing a Ton of IB games over the last 2 days. (Thank god this is almost over) Out of all the games I've played we've had 3, maybe 4 on a push, even games that came to the wire. The rest are just curbstomps one way or the other. On writing this I've just come out of a game were we were 4 - 53 in the first couple minutes. Somehow managed to get over the Pity threshold so the game decided to make us endure more of this torture. I'm by no means a good pvp player, my KD after 62 Wins is a meagre 1.73, why am I up against teams like this. If I wasn't going for the IW title at the moment I would've Alt+F4 right on the spot and logged MHW.

The whole % of wins thing is not something you want to be manipulated in any direction.

9 RepliesEdited by Tis-but-a-scratch: 1/3/2024 1:36:14 AMThis is the worst I’ve seen it in a long time. Is the population really this low? Absolutely terrible matches.

Edited by Synge_X: 1/5/2024 12:25:13 AMUnbelievable, SBMM Supporters: STOMPS FEET “Give me SBMM, ITS NOT FAIR THAT I HAVE TO PLAY BETTER PLAYERS” Developers: “Ok” -Half of the SBMM supporters quit a week later- Average to above average players: “Dude WTF!?!?!?” Remaining SBMM supporters “Whaaa I’m still loosing, THERE IS NO SBMM”!!!!! Developers: “It literally says SBMM on the playlist but ok, we’ll tighten it up” Average to above average players: “Cool, I’m out, this is terrible”. -Leaves the game along with more SBMM supporters that routinely leave the game or don’t play Crucible- Remaining SBMM supporters along with forum dwellers who don’t play the game: “WHY ARE MY GAMES SO HORRIBLE, THERE IS NO SBMM TURN IT ON!!!!!” Developers: “There is no one playing but the elites. we’re actually going to have to turn off SBMM” -Announces it online- Average to above average players: Sweet, the game might be fun again, WE BACK IN BOYS”!!! The cycle repeats….

Online PvP games have been using CBMM in quickplay playlists for almost 2 decades, ever since their existence. Why is everyone complaining about it now? Specifically in D2? This playerbase seems to be the most entitled playerbase I have ever seen, that believes they deserve free wins and rewards.

They were fired. 😂

1 ReplyThat will be a patch in 2026 when Marathon fails and they need Destiny to be active again. It will cost you the low price of 150$

I'd love to be playing IB this week, but I just won't participate in pvp until they bring back solo que. Cross Play lag and team lag combined makes pvp unplayable. It can also make it seem like everyone else is better than you because teams get net priority and so they see you before you see them. I had fun in solo que playlists. I don't enjoy the current garbage at all. I'm also quite sure I'm not the only one. Every step Bungie takes to prioritize teams makes pvp worse for 90% of the playerbase and then they wonder why people don't play. You can't listen to streamers. They think latency is caused by sbmm, but it's really caused by cross play, premade clan teams who are hundreds and thousands of miles apart, and low numbers. If you look at every change Bungie has made to pvp lately you'll see that they prioritize premade clan teams on different platforms, and that quite literally increases lag, which decreases playerbase and increases lag more. Want to fix pvp? It's incredibly simple. Put a solo que option on the two main pvp nodes and bring back ALL the maps and create new loot every season with new origin traits. And then stick with it long enough to let the word get out that pvp is playable again. I guarantee that's what Sony will do if they take over.

Haha good old IB! A balanced game …..would be rare now !

Call it lag, framerate, whatever, but I'd come across 1 or 2 opponents where I did no damage getting solid headshots (vs kills on the others of their team) and being melted or one-shot by Strand pulses, ar's, or Wish-Ender. Granted WE is really good, but 💩 at least let me knock some of their shield off. One match my super didn't even kill one, they weren't using Well or anything... maybe healing nade? But I've never not killed 1 using my super on them (Hunter, Blade Barrage).

2 RepliesGood question. Been pondering that myself. Utter trash garbage lately. So perhaps one could purchase a Zim or other net limiting hardware which allows others to achieve far beyond their limits. Just saying, hypothetically, if everyone else gets the green flag to cheat. Why not join the club? IB IS UTTERLY ATROCIOUS THIS ITERATION! Full of cheater -blam!- scumbags ruining everyone’s fun. FYI- I fully recommend one never ever violate T.O.S. In any manner whatsoever. But the scumbags are running RAMPANT at this point in time- I can fully attest. . . P..S. - don’t @ me at all, you trolls will be instantly blocked

SBMM “balance” based on the lobby skill. If you have one person who is a 3.0 KD they will get a bunch of bad people to make up for it and give the other team a bunch of 1.2s. It’s a crappy system and 6v6 modes should have stayed at a connection based.

Did you purchase the Everdeen bundle for silver for match making in crucible? See Tess at the tower for details.

6 RepliesEdited by NotCreative123: 1/3/2024 9:14:25 PMIncorrect. The purpose of SBMM is to match you with players of similar skill. The purpose of Lobby Balancing is to take the players in the Lobby and sort them, based on their skill, to create two even teams. The problem is that Lobby Balancing doesn't work well when players have vastly different skills. Right now, the population is low, and SBMM is already very "loose." This means that the Lobby Balancing formula is constantly having to balance players when it is not possible to even get even teams. Even if player "skills" are mostly balanced on paper, the slightest thing can screw the world up. If you usually snipe, but now you're using a fusion, that means your "skill" is not accurate. Etc. To make it worse, Fireteams are there to screw up the Lobby Balancing formula even more. EDIT: In an ideal world where everyone in the Lobby is the exact same skill and both teams are dead even, then the win/loss percentage for teams would follow a binomial distribution. I don't know what your K/D would be. EDIT 2: Even in that ideal world, as you win or lose, your in-game "skill" shifts up or down, but your Actual or True Skill remains constant. This slow shift will eventually lead to uneven odds in your games, essentially truncating the outer edges of the binomial distribution graph. In other words, your chance of being an outlier (being a person who wins or loses a lot) goes down as a result of the "skill" shift. I don't know how quickly Bungie's formula shifts "skill", so I don't know how truncated the graph actually is.

It happens a lot now ….In IN and Quickplay ….control . Very bored , predictable and frustrating. But some reason a lot of people get off on stomping , protecting their precious kd and the kill count . Surprised more people are playing and still so many streamers left ! It’s all the same old same old .

Thought we had zero skill based matchmaking in destiny

Try purchasing at least $30.00 in the store.

Blazing…._ _ _ _ _

I've been getting lopsided either way - seems random and certainly not balanced.

2 RepliesTheoretically, yes, but it doesn't work because everyone isn't sitting at 50/50 1.0. But hey, they haven't tried real sbmm yet, right?
