It's another evil tactic to waste your time for absolutely NOTHING

Once the majority have got to rank 11 (max rank) there is little point to re rank up each season. New challenges should be added to make it more engaging each season.

It's another evil tactic to waste your time for absolutely NOTHING
Thats why i am staying rank 5.

I always manage to get to rank 7 or 8 just by randomly doing whatever sounds like a good idea, and doing raids and dungeons from time to time with friends. I hate its existence though😂. Just one more checklist to ignore until I do something and have to interact to shut the damn thing up. Its really just a social credit score tool, as mentioned elsewhere, here. In my personal experiences, the vast majority seem to pursue it solely on the grounds that they can weaponize it to shame people in forums because their social credit score isn't high enough. Some do it for completion and other valid reasons that are totally fine. Sucks so many more make it a tool for personal delusion. Guardian Rank proves nothing, but someone always brings it up in reference to deciding your worth as a person. It really is a waste of time, programming and resources. I guess not a total waste if some pursue it, but why put extra effort in to further blast one of the most toxic playerbases in gaming into more elitism and separation?

2 RepliesThey actually added guardian score? I’m assuming this is some kind of BS that other players can vote on, so it’s completely bias. I was thinking of coming back after a long break, but now I think I’ll just stay away. Absolutely no sense in coming back, only to be frowned upon simply because my “social score” isn’t high enough. I’ve played destiny since D1 alpha, but there is no way in hell I’m paying for a season pass or dlc only to be limited in what I can do by other players.
-
So bungie has added their own “social credit score,”why does this not surprise me? Bungie is ran by 🤡🤡! 😂😂
-
They only exist to help the no life players identify the other no life players so they can play together for fast runs with fewer deaths.

14 RepliesIt lets us know if people actually KWTD

2 RepliesYup, I'm only rank 6 but always carry those 10s and 11s in both raids and trials...
-
Honestly I might actually engage with it if it was permanent and didn't reset each season. Until then, it's the adventurer lifestyle for me.

19 RepliesEdited by N7_Primarch: 1/2/2024 5:15:53 PMBest tool to spot a sweat lord elitist. Have yet to play with a single 11 on a strike that wasn't a complete D bag, rushing, griefing. All in a coop game. Expect nothing less from the rat people still living in this game daily. Oh and the seals can't ever forget about them. 9 times out of 10 a max rep bum has every embarrassing seal you can imagine, including the ones only utter losers care to get. Now go off, offended nerd for pointing out the sad reality of your daily life.

2 RepliesI don't mind the ranks/challenges (I usually do 10 but not 11) but they need to remove commendations from it as theya re based solely on rng (whether people decide to give them or not). The rest is pretty easy.

2 RepliesSo basically they found another way to make the community look like a fool as usual.
🤣🤣🤣😂

It's another evil tactic to waste your time for absolutely NOTHING
Yup It tells you zero about another player, except (maybe) that they don’t mind flushing money down the drain. I would much rather see any of the following: Light Level Season Pass Level (although they can buy that to completion) Date when they started Playing D2 Or even lifetime PVP/PVE kills (both, or players choice)

28 RepliesEdited by God Eater: 1/5/2024 12:40:12 AMSo are video games and replying in the forums…yet here we are.🤷🏽♂️ EDIT: It’s crazy how one little comment can trigger some and cause a war amongst others.😮💨😂
-
And you only discovered it now? It was like that since they got introduced nearly a year ago

8 Repliesimo i like it because it indicates current skill. i wish they would add going flawless and getting ascendant to rank 11 because i’m a lot better overall than 11s that are only good at PvE.

I played this weeks gm with both rank 11 and 7 rank guardians. Some 7s clearly better , not only gm side both build crafting manuever , skill and tactical gameplay. Some 7s also conqueror 8+ but some Rank11's only one conqueror, gilded flamekeeper , gildedstarbaker... So who is better pve player?! I think rank system garbage. For ex.I am stuck at 10 cause i dont have fireteam to beat master crota.

Edited by waterpolo1: 1/3/2024 12:32:10 AMIt's a 100% optional thing to chase for if you want to. Don't want a high rank, don't chase it. Yall are being super over dramatic over these small things.
-
Useless? Pointless? Ridiculously difficult &/or tedious? Sadly, that's Bungie nowadays

Edited by midnightjedi: 1/4/2024 7:47:45 PMSure. So are titles, emblems, shaders, armor transmog, ghost shells, ships, ghost projections, transmat effects, and I’m sure plenty others I can’t think of. Lots of players like playing “haha big number go up” game - there doesn’t really have to be a bigger reason than cosmetics. Edit: aside from early guardian ranks that act as a new player guide to not overwhelm them with every system at once
-
Then don’t do them
It's another evil tactic to waste your time for absolutely NOTHING
You get more load-outs…

4 RepliesA guide for new players, an indication for in-game lfg to rate the guardians you pick for your posts activity.. I really hope guardian rank isn't people's measuring stick for in game lfg choices or how good a player might be, I never go past 7, Elite sounds the best of all the names..
-
4 RepliesBut it gives me something to go for instead of being bored, I would never have tried to solo a dungeon without guardian ranks. It's a goal for me

Ha… 9’s
It’s just another number to chase since they took away the seasonal power level increase chase
