Unpopular opinion but I believe crafting is 50% of the reason this game feels soulless. It took the excitement out of loot and beating activities.
I recently got a waking vigil from the coil loot room that’s -blam!- for pvp and I actually got excited about it.
I am a dinosaur in this game and have had an active clan for years so running the end game has always been accessible and it is always better when the weapons are organic and not instantly deleted until you get the pattern unlocked.
That said, the non craftable weapons this season are actually good. Parabellum cooks, that void AR is insane, and it’s fun to get a roll of them.
I would like to see more uncommon gems like these.

Crafting in itself isn’t a problem, but should act as actual bad luck protection. Enhanced perks should’ve never been introduced and weapons shouldn’t get a stat boost outside of MW once they hit a certain level. I do like crafting for some weapons as it reduces the strain of grinding seasonal activities without being rewarded. I know a lot of people that got frustrated after Splicer ended when they hadn’t gotten any decent rolls on a gun or two they wanted. I also like that they’re being less afraid to put good guns in random drop sources this season.

If crafted weapons were actually rng protection, instead of objectively being the best version of a weapon, then crafting would make more sense.
