Bungie executives are killing the game
It’s mind boggling but I honestly think bungie is trying to kill off destiny. The constant nerfs are one of the biggest issues it’s a POWER FANTASY game I’m immortal but my guardian feels like the generic brand vs brand name. Titan Banner was so fun last season I finally felt like I didn’t have to have a well lock. Starfire protocol was so fun to spam fusion Nades. Look at whisper of the worm it’s criminal how long it’s gone as a gimmick weapon same goes for Anarchy more people played during those times because it was Fun. But Bungie Devs are choosing balance over fun and it’s killing the game plain and simple I’ve been playing Assassins creed again and Bayek feels more powerful than my guardian. I’m having fun as Alexios in Odyssey because theirs so many fun weapon perks ex flaming swords breath under water. Valhalla grounded more so it was a pretty boring game compared to the rest. Crucible sucks idk why players complain about abilities go play Fortnite or cod or whatever I play D2 to dunk sups and abilities. This week crucible has double loot like ? What loot? Lmao we need more weapon skins. The calab stuff is cool but let’s face it ornaments that kinda look like god of war or horizon need to be more it’s like a cheap knock off when Fortnite you look exactly like the character. Instead of nerfs… BUFF other stuff then guess what ? You have a variety instead of players using the next up meta

they arent killing the game, they HAVE killed the game, look at what they did to their staff lol, why should anyone expect them to treat the playerbase in a fair fashion (also -blam!-, fortnite micro transactions steamroll this game so hard its laughable)

Instead of simplifying the game to make it more accessible and fun, they continue to layer nerfs and buffs in arcane ways to manipulate the sandbox. And they do this to extend play time because whatever framework they've created for themselves doesn't give them enough flexibility to pivot when something's not going to plan. So instead of creating more or richer content to keep people engaged, they double down on their time-extending strategies to keep them at least playing, extolling the grind as the path to gaming Nirvana. Hey, Bungie; it's not about the grind, per se, but about the experiences during the grind that make a game epic instead of just a slog.

1 ReplyYour post and your title do not match. You claim the execs are killing the game in your title and the devs are killing the game in your post. Frankly the devs are the most to blame, they make all the small decision that are week to week changes and come up with most of the ideas for balance, nerfs, buffs etc. There are way to many devs for a few leaders, executive board members etc to micro manage. The problems are pervasive, and untouched. Bungie may not be trying to kill the game, but they sure are doing nothing to save it either. This season was the last chance this expansion for them to make serious changes to prepare for TFS. Unfortunately it is more of the same garbage as all year. Crappy story missions, recycled everything and seasonal activities no one wants to repeat after the season has ended because of how many time we were forced to do them during the season. Bungie needs help and real direction. The 45% miss in revenue should tell somebody that unless changes come sooner rather then wait till TFS, sales are going to continue to plummet.

The game has suffered all these years because it's being dragged through the mud by this business The other studios that Activision provided tried to save it but this business wasn't having any of that. It's going to be interesting to see what happens when Sony takes over.

1 ReplyThis season is the worst for nerfs in artifact mods and general mod nerfs. Force you to play a subclass you don't want to run. They are constantly just making the game worse. Then if you like pvp good luck ,cheaters galore good chance 50% of matches . The difficulty wouldn't be to bad if they didn't also buff the ads and give them more ability's like the new freeze , tracker ammo , boops and tracker balls none stop almost in every thing you do. Whoever is behind the dorky mechanics in almost everything you play anymore needs to retire, its lame.

When they left PvP in the dust, it was the begging of the end. They refuse to do anything that makes the elites+streamer crowd mad.

Let Sony take over, so Destiny can die an extra embarrassing death. Put Insomniac in charge. Let’s see how Mara looks like with Mary Jane’s new jaw. Or maybe Naughty Dog? Let’s see how muscular Tess Everis can get.

Joe Blackburn and his team will all be jobless next year, as they will all be replace by a Sony Approve Board, so the future is bright for destiny since The Final Shape will fail, and Sony will take the helm completely

3 RepliesJust don’t buy the final shape even if you want to wait at least the first week of release if they haven’t rebalanced in a way you want to play then move on. I am. I hate what they did to this game with lightfall I hate their relationship with the YouTube crowd and the only way to show them that is not buying anything from them until they change or don’t. I will gladly watch it burn down I have zero regrets in this company suffering the consequences of bad decisions.

1 ReplyThis game died after the release of rise of iron in D1. Finally revived with the release of forsaken, but now everything just feels like -blam!-. I took a 2 yr break from destiny two, came back a couple of months ago just to still be playing the same shitty maps and weapons. This game used to be so vibrant and fun. It hurts to see what could have been if this game had competent developers.

After what I've read from Devs, leaks, & between the lines, the Devs are tired of working on destiny, the fixes they advise are refused, so who's to say 'some' Devs aren't doing changes to push people away, inturn killing the game & getting back at the higher ups whilst also getting them onto new things & away from the tedium. Could also be, bungie as a whole, who've said since day 1 destiny is hard to maintain, but now owned by Sony, so they're now working on a Sony game, want it to end, so are sabotaging to force Sony to axe it. When bungie ownee it at least they try, a bit, but now they don't why would they? If they fail it's not their money, or company.

Executives look at profits not reactive players that get upset and post on forums. They know exactly how many “quit” but spend every year. The narrative that’s presented and the one that’s reality are two different things. The use of the word “projected” leaves so much wiggle room to justify just about anything they do. Destiny is cash cow and all the hype that’s presented about not meeting profit goals, player counts, Sony take overs and metrics involving pre orders is smoke and mirrors. The executives are doing what executives do. Make a lot of money off the work of others.
