Starcrossed Mission is WAY over the top
This Starcrossed mission is WAY over the top.
Some people have no choice but to do it solo.
It took forever to do on my Warlock. Now it’s almost impossible to do on my Titan.
Is it really worth doing each week to get the Immaterial Messenger then AGAIN repeatedly just to get catalyst and other perks?
It appears this exotic mission needs to be completed in order for Season of the Wish quest to progress.
Bungie, you need to provide guidance to your players (customers) on exactly how much time out of their lives is required to complete:
- the campaign story
- seasonal rituals and content (including quests)
- further activity required to obtain critical materials
- shaping seasonal weapons
- triumph/titles
- exotic quests such as these
- end-game content like dungeons and raids
Is this new exotic bow really worth the time?
Will I still be able to progress the Season of the Wish quest story on other characters if I don’t complete this exotic quest on other characters?
This is WAY over the top.

I must really suck because I just can't do it, feels like I have been content locked out of the seasonal mission and never find anyone on LFG in the game. Ah well.

I’m glad that I don’t care about progressing the seasonal story. Lets me not care about getting this mission done. Bungie should tune the base difficulty level of their seasonal story so that it’s fully accessible/completable by everyone that’s playing it. Have an increased difficulty option for anyone that thinks it’s too easy. It doesn’t seem a good idea for a game that’s got player retention/financial issues to purposefully push players away. -
6 RepliesThanks all for your insights. I actually completed it on all my characters - but I put up the post to test everyone’s attitude and response; albeit at Christmas time. It was a sociology experiment. The conclusion? Narcissistic sociopathic behaviour appears to remain prevalent (more often than not). Merry Christmas everyone.

1 ReplyIt can be a pain in places (Wyverns and minotaurs particularly) but there are so many places you can safely camp out away from ads and recover health, even in the boss room, that it can be done with a bit of patience and without too much trauma. The encounter mechanics are pretty repetitive and can be learnt pretty quickly. I’ve finished it on Warlock and Titan and I’m a bang average solo player. Just chuck on 100 Resilence with triple Void Resistance and you won’t go far wrong. Dragon’s Breath with an ignitions build will speed things up as well. Having said that, if the jumping sections were no respawns then it would be completely hateful. I’m cack at jumping and nearly all of my deaths in the mission to date have been jump related.

did it solo blind, took about 40 minutes w/ exploration, its easy. Fireteam finder is there for a reason

Completed the mission my first time on my Warlock; went in blind and solo and came out with a single death. Have since completed it on my Warlock, solo without any deaths as well as on Legendary difficulty solo with only two deaths. I have also completed Classic difficulty solo on my Hunter with only a few deaths. There are plenty of builds that don’t rely on broken mechanics that can get you through the mission; you just need to find something that works for you. (΄◉◞౪◟◉｀)

Dude it's not that difficult, the final boss is dropped by 2 radianr Nighthawk gold gun shots.

It is rather aggressive in the boss battle leading me to think it just needs better solo player scaling.

Please consider LFG is here now. Solo is a thing of the past if you don't want to be. With 2 other ppl, this is really easy. Also, I do like exotic missions solo as a challenge sometimes. And this one is a good time for solo challenge afficionados. Merry Christmas

You don't need to solo it though. Fireteam Finder is literally in the game now. You don't need a mic.

There is 0 excuses to ever NEED to solo anything anymore. Tons of ways to make friends, find a clan, use lfg, etc.

Does it on 1 character then says it's impossible to do it again? Most humans that do something for the first time find that doing it multiple times makes the thing they're doing easier. It's an ability many possess called learning. Yes every player has the option to solo it but every player also has the option to go in with a team.

It's not hard at all. If you are not at proper power level then yeah, it's going to be harder, but that is your fault for trying to do an activity that you are not ready for. Honestly though, if you are not 1810 base by now, what are you doing? You've had like 3 seasons to get to 1810. Please point out what's hard about star crossed. I'd love to know.
