Over Shields should be removed in PvP. There are way too many over shields in PvP and it's really not fun to get an enemy down to one shot from death only for them to slide around a corner and get an over shield for some odd reason just to slide back around and kill you.

41 RepliesRift. Healing grenade. Wormhusk. One Eyed Mask. Stag, Omni, Wings. There are a ton of abilities and Exotics that affect health. The reason you see so many overshields is due to the fast cooldown of Ward Of Dawn. Think back to earlier this year when Arc Titan reigned Supreme. The only change that made an impact on their usage was the change to the Thundercrash super cooldown. Basically, overshields are overused, but they aren't broken. Void Titan (along with 3 or 4 other subclasses) is an outlier subclass, but I attribute that almost entirely to its super. On a side note... [b]Nerf Strand Hunter Decoys and the Peacekeepers Exotic boots[/b]!

They should give them the same treatment as invis. Reduce radar to 10 meters while you have an overshield.

2 RepliesEdited by Ryan Foxling: 12/22/2023 6:54:36 AMFor whatever reason devs really thinks that we should counter them with anti-shield perks, they are keep adding them, but who is going to use a weapon just to counter overshields, then your opponent can use any perk on a weapon, because you don't have an overshield. It's just crazy, every trials sweat are using void titan, including me. I'd rather use a warlock than a titan, but in this meta you have to use one or you are screwed if you play against opponents with similar skill. And all the nerfs to bastion only made the game slower, because people are just waiting for a barricade even longer. Devs wanted us to use a primary more often, but overshields are killing vast majority of them, because TTK of certain weapons are only viable if your opponent doesn't have an overshield or some damage reduction, for example 140 hc, 150 scouts and other things like pulse rifles. For whatever reason we are in some damage reduction, overshield or healing meta since void 3.0 and I don't understand why, pvp is better then it's simpler and then you need to think about less things happening.

As long as people continue to team shoot and use the most op weapons in pvp I'm going to use over shields or anything else I can think of. I literally just want solo que back. The latency in team modes with cross play is just too much to ever be fun.

It is frustrating, but if you can craft something with enhanced Under Over and get armor piercing rounds, that should help deal with that crap better. Just be as accurate as you can, though.

3 RepliesAs a Titan, if I am almost dead and barricade give me the overshield, it will only take one melee hit to kill me even with the blue bar. There could not be other nerf to it as it affect ward of dawn hit detection allowing enemy guardians to kill you with one melee hit right after deploying the dome

Or you could just use a gun with over under to deal with overshields. That is literally why the perk exists.

1 ReplyI wish the devs would have taken my advice 5 years ago and added a pvp subclass. The amount of time and energy saved from trying to balance everything. I imagine we get cooler weapons if bungee devs would block them from entering pvp. Bungie should have hired me to direct pvp

Easy mear free ttk shifts are a bad thing imo most things that change ttk should require a kill to activate not be active from the start.
