Crucible Matchmaking Suggestion

I know this is a hot topic lately, however I’d like to interject my two cents: I believe that non-competitive Crucible would benefit from a matchmaking system which factors in Trials frequency. This could be taken directly from the amount of Trials matches that a player has participated in, from Saint reputation, from the amount of Trials loot obtained (if such data is available), etc. I am putting this suggestion forward as I believe Crucible is less approachable due to the skill gap that Trials players bring, and filtering them into matches of similar skill level and/or matches with a balanced amount of Trials regulars would make the experience more enjoyable for everyone involved.

  • That sounds like an odd way to decide how things should work at first. Its hard at this point to say that the reason people aren't playing in droves is because the game hasn't been approachable enough. If people are seeing too many Trials players in their playlists then its probably because of the low player population.

  • There's a lot of low skill players with a lot of trials games played. Not sure it would have the effect you want. Maybe if it accounted for flawless trips only, but if it's just taking into account playtime and shaxx rep (would think it would be saint rep?) then I don't think it's going to filter people the way you're wanting.
