Can some explain trials matchmaking?
I think it is mistaking me for someone good at pvp

2 RepliesIts just hard to play seven plus matches as a solo with duos that are communicating with each other and you're the odd person out. Other than that the matchmaking varies and your matchmaking varies throughout the season within that just like other playlists.

Its a hit or miss. If you chill and play just for fun, you will probably go to the lighthouse, specially after the 2 forgiveness passage, then just use the card for increase loot, play to win but don't stress out when the other team is way better then your team, you were meant to loose that game. Just take it like a 6v6 casual and you will be fine. Trials is way more cansual then ever before, go have fun and go for the loot.

It essentially boils down to this… The Practice Pool utilizes weekly performance and connection-based matchmaking. The Challenger Pool utilizes only connection-based matchmaking. The entire mode utilizes fireteam-based matchmaking which is why they got rid of freelance. 4 RepliesIts Fireteam based matchmaking with extra steps. First there are 2 pools, contender and practice. Practice pools are used for the very bottom tier of players, new players (no flawless cards and bellow 500 games), people on a flawed passage and for the first game any player plays that week. Contender pools are the regular pools, these are used for most players. These players include anyone who has ever gotten a flawless, anyone with more than 500 games played and anyone with more than 1000 kills. Players in the practice pool can play in the contender pool if they are stacking with someone in the contender pool. Next is the matchmaking itself which uses 3 criteria, fireteam size, connection and card progress. Fireteam size is prioritised meaning typically you will match with players of equal fireteam size as yourself. Connection is self explanatory, it will fond players based on overall connection to attempt to minimise lag Finally is card progression, this is usually ignored due to the other 2 criteria but in the cases it isnt it will attempt to match you with people who have roughly the same amount of wins as you do (or the highest win card of your fireteam) The final aspect to the matchmaking is what i call pool bleeding. This is simply where players in your pool cannot be found so it will pull from the other pool usually prioritising players who are either only just in contender (if youre in practice) or have nearly left practice (if you are in contender)

Somehow I get teammates who run off by themselves, sit in their menu, don’t revive, don’t team shoot, can’t spot a flank, leave the match after losing 1 round. But I somehow I go up against these god tier non missing, shooting me behind a wall, knows how to push and team play. I aint askin for an easy ride, just let me get atleast ONE teammate that can play. Other guy can be trash. Just gimme a fighting chance lol gaahhhdamn 😂

I had someone go to the lighthouse against me this week. I was in the flawed card pool and the game was three baddies (me included) Vs three better players. I did think he sure got a really easy ride for the seventh win...

Its easy get rid of the cheaters and match making is fine. Outside of that your dealing with long haulers 5 plus years of playing the same maps . I would certainly hope they could play trials by now and know every inch of the maps and how to load out for all of them. Bungie's laziness created this mess for lack of new maps and allowing cheating to carry on for years. If you really want to go flawless what's the point when you can get the loot anyway just playing. I have many adept weapons if thats why you want flawless and I use very few of them in trials or pve. I would take a enhanced weapons any day over adept just craft some.

They let people solo que into MM instead of keeping it as a premade fireteam activity. That's when all the problems started.

3 RepliesYou get your -blam!- whooped for about 50 rounds. then you finally win 3 in a row only to have the opposing team pull out their spinach cans and somehow come back to win all the remaining rounds without dying a single time. Then you might actually win a match, but then the cycle repeats itself until you find something else to play. Can confirm 100% this is how it works.

Reset your card after your two loses unless you want to get clapped every single match. I’m probably slightly above average though, I have anywhere between a 1.0-1.2 kd playing trials 100% solo. That’s my experience. I get the worst teammates possible in practice pool, and still have to play sweats. In challenger pool my teammates seem to be more competent and sometimes better than me. I win matches pretty consistently this way.

Its unplayable unless you cheat now and carry your team. Its still fun reporting and blocking players though. Maybe get a win now and then.
