That why no one is playing it. Every time sbmm is introduced the pvp population plummets. Bungie never learns.

Bungie’s system only works when the player base is at its peak. SBMM in control/rotators makes it unfun for everyone. Newer players don’t improve, higher tier players have to sweat every match, and players in the middle flip back and forth between stomping and being stomped. Comp needs pure rank-based matchmaking to make it viable, otherwise ranks are meaningless. If you play people out of your rank but are at a similar “skill” you won’t move up or down in a good way. Either the system won’t work (allocating even points no matter what rank players are on each team) or people won’t be able to understand (allocating seemingly random points based on win/loss) Trials is in a decent spot in my opinion, but the “practice pool” should have the same matchmaking as the control playlist. Offer more protection to players just trying to learn or grind rep. I think the whole undermining issue is Lobby balancing. It’s still messed up very frequently.

I want to see a push for input based match making. It would improve the match times for console & controller players on PC, while improving the purity of the PC M&K lobbys. But hey its some how fare only console players get the choice of input based match making.

I haven't had a single match be anywhere close. Completely broken. Not to mention fusion rifles are busted completely alongside hand cannons.

Card based doesn’t seem to work, sbmm in comp while also being rank based and sbmm in a casual game mode like 6s. The current pvp matching system across the board isn’t built to bring people in. There idea of 50/50 doesn’t allow lower skilled to improve and punishes the top % with tournament level games every match.
