I should not be facing off against flawless players on game 1. This is ridiculous.

I’ve been giving this topic some thought and a bit of research. I’ve found that a lot of the people with the “git gud” mentality with a ton of flawless’s on their accounts are actually not even good at PvP. Bungie has created an environment that encourages people to pay for carry’s, or to get carried by somebody. The people who have a problem with the flawless pool are neglecting to mention they never got to the lighthouse carried by their own skill. You have highly skilled players, complaining about sweaty matches. You have average players complaining about not being able to win enough games to go flawless. They’re both complaining about the exact same thing, they want to win. In a situation like this, the side with the most people on it, should be the side that receives the most consideration. But Bungie craps on the masses to appease the few people with influence. This approach is inherently flawed, and plays a large part in why the D2 community is shrinking and continuing to shrink. I have noticed in any activity I have played, it’s almost all veterans. There’s very few blueberries. Without an influx of new players, who aren’t going to stick around if they can’t enjoy the game because they’re getting crushed repeatedly, the game will continue to decline. Trials has not really changed since I started playing over 2 years ago. It’s time to change up the rules, because I don’t think anyone will disagree, this is not working.

1 ReplyDear Sony please lay off the rest of Bungies PVP team they keep destroying trials and comp and get rid of capture the flag and stupid -blam!- countdown

2 RepliesEdited by cerealkeller: 12/18/2023 11:55:53 AMExpecting players, especially average players, to win 7 consecutive matches is unreasonable, even with 1 loss allowed. High skill players: but I go flawless all the time! Then you, sir, are the reason the flawless pool existed in the first place. If they want the playlist population to increase, they need to do something other than nothing. Which is exactly what they have done since the beginning. The entire premise is a flawed concept imo

Sure you should. They are almost all that is left. I played on pc for the first time in a long time this week and the nonsense is in full force. Console players moving in impossible ways, .4kd players hitting impossible snipe after impossible snipe while Hop firing on the run….. Happy I got all my stuff before it became a joke. I would consider firing up the co some again if freelance was ever a thing again.
-
15 RepliesOooorrr, like others have said. Remove the idea of flawless entirely. 7 win cards grants lighthouse and adept. Sure let a perfect card get the glow and an extra adept. Then put all matchmaking to connection as much as possible. The game is old enough at this point. I only went flawless during freelance weekends since I’m a big solo player. And I doubt I will again since it is gone.
-
2 Repliesif you have the drive to get 7 wins, or more, heck, make it more, make it 14 wins, I don't care. You should get a trip to the lighthouse. Trials is so beyond broken at this point, nobody I know can stand to play it. At this point, I would welcome playing with a cheater to just get flawless so I can quit playing. What's bungie gonna do? Ban me? Please do. The way you get to the lighthouse is obviously not working anymore.
-
13 RepliesThere is no solution outside of get good if you want to go to the lighthouse. We can't go back to flawless pool. It wasn't good anyway as it made people wait all weekend to play if you lacked confidence. It also just filled with carries/service streamers who complained that carrying is harder so they have to avoid going flawless like cowards. Overall it was a bad situation. If you want adept loot which is just a flex you have to earn it. If you can't it's ok the normal version is identical outside of mods.

Both freelance and flawless was a great addition to the mode The issue now is that top players are not fighting players around the skill lvl majority of the time they fighting players way lower skill lvl and are randoms with too many things working against them Skill lvl Stack teams MM Cheaters Nothing more then blowouts every match or every other match it's not fun at all Ok yea ik ppl say freelance divided the player base but it was way more balanced then regular trials because in the end it all came down to skill and it was way more fun then regular trials nm going flawless was not the top priority Since I think it's not right to ruin high skill players mood because they are gd Only thing I can see done is (Regular Trials) *Premade teams required *Unflawess loot *Flawless chest *Double drops *Flawless pool -------------------------- *Freelance *Unflawess loot only
-
6 RepliesI disagree because it made the entire weekend miserable. Half of the great players waited until Sunday. They just need to make it more accessible so the population increases and it’s not so challenging. I don’t mind challenging but not at the expense of nobody playing
-
I should not be facing off against flawless players on game 1. This is ridiculous.
It should be one pool and card based match making.
-
You have the flawless title ya idiot ahhaha
-
Don’t think it would make a difference! The player base is so much smaller now . Also it’s trials …..like comp you just don’t play those modes not worth it .
-
As we speak it’s currently at 21,000 players, so it’s definitely sweaty

6 RepliesBungie owes the community a explanation why very little is being done about the influx of cheaters . Are they scared to ban them, I highly doubt that. Are the banned players making more accounts as fast as they are banned . Or worse making accounts pre ban ,ready to switch to a new account at a moments notice. This is deeply hurting the game and what ever the case may be . I'm sure if Bungie had a solution they would be implementing it . I'm sure closing down pvp has been in the conversation.

26 Repliesflawless pool isnt the problem. It's the whole "win 7 consecutive games" thing. This objective is inherently flawed. It's not supposed to happen in a fair game mode. Bungie needs to completely abandon this objective, throw it into the trash and never pick it back up again. If you win a match, you get 1 adept weapon. Easy fix.
-
9 RepliesYes! At this point, they should just sell the adept trials weapons. It is absolutely plagued with recovs, paid carries, and cronus/xim. It is a joke. They don't want people paying for trials help, but create the environment for it. No one ever accused Bungie of having common sense. I miss flawless pool. You could actually improve when playing. How do they always get it wrong?
-
1 ReplyI have gotten one flawless in all my time playing and what do you know I go against people with double even triple digit flawless wins
-
I should not be facing off against flawless players on game 1. This is ridiculous.
Who cares if they already went flawless? That doesn’t give them an advantage over you. If you have the skill to go flawless, you shouldn’t care about facing players who happened to log on before you did.
-
I'm a 0.7 k/d solo trials player and I disagree. The player pool you match against is too small. Too often other players are playing from 5 different continents. If I loose or win, I want it to be because it was a fair fight, not determined by lag. And yes, it's "fair" you match people better than you. That's life.
-
Nope, this actually keeps the pool of players balanced Plus the double mercy change was huge and great for not so good players
-
5 RepliesNo, I like playing more than 1 card and not having to tell my friends that they'd be better off going in without me.
-
how about no? but they should remove bad players pool
-
1 ReplyFlawless pool was a terrible idea and caused irreparable harm to the casual/low skill player psyche. Adept weapons are barely any better than non adepts. They are more akin to a cosmetic flex than an actual power upgrade. Be happy with non adepts and if care about getting adept loot, get better and earn it
-
Yes. With the 2 pools, I could actually go flawless once or twice a season while running solo. Now I find myself running into flawless players doing carries on my 1st or 2nd match and if I do manage to make it past those 1st two game (typically with an lfg team) then we almost always end up getting stomped once we reach 5 or 6 wins.
-
3 RepliesBut how can the 2 streamers who are left playing this dead game make tons and tons of money, milking their viewers for subs to get higher chances for a raffle to go flawless that way? These poor streamers need people to stomp, think about their wallets!
