I'm glad folks are charging in to the COIL with rabid abandon! Unfortunately, many of those folks don't understand what to do. SPECIFICALLY, that the number of Revives are limited for the entire team... Less specifically, it takes 4 runs to complete the activity...
Just a little screen, right before "Launch" which tells the uninformed spawn-meisters that they will be consuming team revives if they get killed? Maybe also that folks will want to stick around for FOUR full runs to get to the treasure room?
I'm enjoying the COIL. (When I can get a legit run...) Lots of great loot. I normally don't LFG but this seems to be the only way to get a satisfying COIL run. (I also don't MIC - but that's on me...)
I made my first run without KWTD and quickly found out that I was missing some info. Folks shouldn't have to LFG, but this seems to be required. I got in last night (matchmade) and it was pretty obvious I was doomed.
I guess its all LFG for now but simply adding a little help screen would be, um, "helpful" I think...

Indeed. It's really frustrating when people waste lives or rush through without breaking all the pots. When I do it solo or with my clan it's always a platinum run/ we get all the bonuses. It's a major time-sink to have people ruining runs by not getting the loot or forcing a situation where you have no lives. I had someone join in when I had 23 lives, towards the end of the third run, midway through the 4th run they'd burned all 23 (between two people, but it was mostly one). I ended up soloing the last two encounters with no lives. As for the difficulty, I'm Ok with it now BUT some sort of PSA would be nice. Not just in The Coil...like basically anywhere in the game there's some sort of objective. Just have some instructions in the loading screens and it would smooth a lot of this out. I've seen people complain about the loot drops and the only thing I can say to them is, you're doing it wrong. The loot is insane if you do it right. But again, it's because they don't know how to run up the score and get to the 4th stage with the bonus chests.

1 ReplyLol. I was with a clan mate. He was dying all over the place. He was unaware of the limited revives.(Blueberry was no help either) Could have beaten the final boss if that tree/bush didn't trap me in place.

I generally don't do this...but lately if I see people being careless and not playing for platinum I just go to orbit and re-queue. The coil is super fun and rewarding...but only if your team does well. Just one person wasting revives, rushing through without picking up shards and chests, etc kind of makes it a waste of time. A good platinum run can be done pretty fast. A crappy run with bad teammates can take twice as long and get you a fraction of the rewards.

Yep hit and a miss by bungie, better of going solo but after the 2/4 run it gets ridiculously hard for no valid reason and they need to remove that. Only managed to full-solo it once, could of again yesterday if i didn't get D/C'd

The game is bread on infinite revives and speed running. So the Coil makes it so the community can't do it without a good LFG/friend group. I keep seeing people just rush in and die. It's kind of annoying ...

Yeah, people leaving after the first round thinking they are done lol And if someone goes straight through a portal without looking for pots, I leave
