Tried this FT Finder for completing my Taniks encounter checkpoint in DSC just now. After rallying my fireteam, I just clicked the activate button of DSC automatically displayed on orbit interface and it did show that I have a checkpoint. However, the whole team was brought to the starting point of DSC. After going back to orbit immediately, I found that I lost my Taniks checkpoint. If I don't use the activate interface provided by FT Finder, instead, select DSC and activate by myself, all things are working correctly. Overall I believe this cannot be intended and must be a BUG.
