The game mode was fun, and it felt balanced. The Hunt could easily work against you if your guard was down. Everyone complaining only hate it because their KD didn't matter. They think basic Control is more fun, or more likely Clash and Elimination. They are the problem with why the mode felt bad. Every mercy game I witnessed, wasn't because the losing team couldn't kill, it was because they didn't bank. I had more games that were engaging when the enemy team knew how to bank. We had a 60 point lead and in one Hunt the enemy team took the lead because they played smarter. Was it groundbreaking or never before seen? No. But it was a different experience. How is that not fun again? But it's the mechanics fault, despite everyone mostly complaining about their poor teams more than the actual mechanics themselves. Right.
I had more fun in my brief time playing Tribute than in the past year of playing PvP. That's a shame. Because everyone just wants to shoot and call it "fun", and as soon as an objective is introduced it's too complicated for them to understand and then they lose and that's "not fun". And for the few haters just calling it gambit, there's something about it that is oddly better. The Crests don't fall under the map unlike motes, and when you die you drop all the crests unlike Gambit where you drop half the motes you had. Strange how it works better, and feels better. Motes could use a patch like that, might improve Gambit, Prophecy, and Garden of Salvation.

2 RepliesIt was not fun for a lot of people. There are PLENTY of complaints to be had about the mode that don't involve someones K/D lmao. Do you think people didn't bank because they weren't good enough to do so or because they just did not want to engage with a terrible mechanic? It appears what you like and what the (vocal) community enjoys differ quite a bit. We already voiced our opinions about gambit and they took that info and then still shoved most of it's mechanics into a pvp mode nobody asked for and most people didn't like it. Not all, but most. It was a poorly conceived idea to begin with and im glad it's gone, as are many others. Maybe we can workshop these modes in labs first instead of using IB as a guinea pig? Not by any means asking for it to only be control and clash, objective modes are fine and welcome, but stuff like this shouldn't get it's first run in their self-described "celebration of pvp" event. The mode was the problem. It was bad for a lot of people. Maybe whatever rework they give it will help, but I sincerely doubt it because the bones of the mode is stuff we, the vocal portion of the community, have overwhelmingly said we DO NOT WANT.

2 RepliesThis game with the letting one bullet touching you turn into an entire kill from a primary just did not match with that mode. Especially for people that may have been returning after being brought to heel before. In my matches a good half of the people weren't doing anything regarding the mode and it can become noticable when they aren't once win apportionment become more important.
