Devs only ideas are to make stuff a chore

current dev design acts like nobody ever had fun before and without adding tedious chores and mechanics to normal difficulty stuff there is no chance anyone will enjoy it just never seen a dev team so out of touch and wonder what drives this crap design? it isn't more fun, it's just tedious and a chore, it interrupts the fun substantially especially in heavy repetition running around killing stuff was fine before, now you gotta run through one shot paths, jump into light pools or die, kill stuff that lets you finally use an item to break a shield and finally damage the boss, got a zillion modifiers on the activities, get rid of almost all cover, spawn crazy numbers of enemies like everywhere like zombie modes in CoD, and it goes on and on a gigantic portion of the playerbase never touches harder difficulties or raids or anything with manual matchmaking, yet they keep doing this crap lightfall numbers, coinciding with a decided increase in bullet sponges and tedious mechanics, caused a huge drop in player retention just what is driving these devs to unrelentingly focus on making stuff more tedious? game is fine just killing stuff and using our hero fantasy powers constantly

    • Nope! This game is for kids who haven’t seen the sun since they were old enough to hold a controller and for streamers and YouTubers. Fun!? You want fun!? Go back to bed boomer! The elites are playing! Did you see my new emblem? I just solo/flawless/no ammo/punch only/blindfolded/one handed the new dungeon! Worship me! God, I’m so good at this game!!!

    • I played a little over the weekend and it felt like I had to do a lot more activities in the EDZ for the seasonal challenge than I remember. Started the Dreaming City one next and gave up after a patrol and a Blind Well run. Could just be me though, I don't have that much patience for grinding anymore.

    • I agree with u 1000% as they said that the game is too easy and we want to complicate it, as you can see, they themselves do not understand what difficulty is, that you die in a room with one shelter and a million enemies? oh yes, that’s the point, we’ve already seen how the director played lost sector, I think that the difficulty should lie in the mechanics or in completing the task that needs to be completed, but apparently they know better how a developer can do something without playing their own product? oh yes we have charts and numbers, we are trading stocks here... yes cod zombie is more fun and challenging but doable than this seasonal activity..

      Easy. Future budget is paid if projected targets are hit regarding plater retention. If so many are playing, for so long, they'll expect so much to be spent on eververse etc. So, player loss means projections drop, affects future budget, bonuses, etc. When they see player loss looming, an example would be they knew lightfall was rubbish & no power increase plus mostly reused loot, along with a big year for new games, would no doubt see players leave, they punish the people who stay by making everything take longer for the same reward. So think, capping players power to make things slower to kill,making it take 2-3 nightfalls for the pinnacle, used to be 1 nightfall, little changes like this will see people play 1-2 hours a week more, it'll make the playerbase dropping from 700k to 400k have nomeffect on the books as overall time playee hits targets, multiply those 1-2 hours per player by 400k & you're getting old 700k numbers.
