Why was this decision made? Yes, I know Radiant is Anti-barrier, but relying on it Solo isn't practical. I have to rely on an exotic with Anti-barrier, or get up close with a sidearm, but get crushed. I managed to do it on Concealed Void lost sector on legendary with Polaris Lance just to test it, but I got lucky. I don't want to try it again.
New Lights don't stand a chance.
EDIT: there is entertainment value in reading the comments of this post. It appears alot of folks read the title, but not the post. Some folks even overlooked a key word I used: "SOLO".
To the several morons(or D2 Gods) that say its easy to just use any solar weapon and proc radiant to get anti-barrier. Go try it SOLO in Legendary or Master content before commenting.

Edited by MNN8TV: 12/7/2023 6:20:51 PMI would love to be able to choose even 1 anti champion mod each season. Like for this season, say that only side arm looks bad to you for anti barrier. I’d love anti barrier scout to compensate.

7 RepliesI logged-in just to post this. Sidearm being the only weapon that can be anti-barrier this season really sucks! Running around in a Nightfall with Drang feels idiotic.
-
It is pretty rough. The only thing worse is auto or smg only overload 😬
-
1 ReplyJust remove champions from the game.
-
6 RepliesEvery artifact should include TWO weapons for each type of champ to counter. That would provide more options and build diversity.
-
1 ReplyHonestly, moving forward, every champion needs at least two different weapons of varied usability (so not bows and sidearms for the same champion for example)
-
2 RepliesI just don’t like champions

4 RepliesFlint Striker - Rapid precision hits or final blows with solar weapons grants radiant. Radiant lets any weapons without another champion function stun barrier champs. This is basically solar weapon anti-barrier. Arbalest and Wish Ender are both still very good. Revision Zero is feeling much better after the buff to its Alt-Fire. Eriana’s is decent but not crazy. Forerunner is also very good as an anti-champ weapon with barrier sidearm.

Edited by The Hermit IX: 12/4/2023 8:02:25 PMRevision Zero, Wish Ender, Arbalest, Erienas Vow and Lament all have intrinsic barrier. My only issue with champion mods in the artifact is the a lack of any special weapon being included for flexibility. Something you can try is using the artifact mod that gives you radiant with a solar weapon and using Polaris Lance. It works well against barriers and unstoppables. If you have a Buzzard with kinetic tremors it works well with the artifact mod. I also keep Forerunner on my character I’m playing seeing it’s a strong special sidearm with great range. My suggestion to you is farm a Buzzard with kinetic tremors or farm the new legendary Dungeon sidearm. The reality of running load outs that cover champions will usually include an exotic so it’s not practical to put that constraint on things.

4 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 12/4/2023 3:01:15 PMI feel like there should always be two mods for each champ type. That being said, probably just going to use Wishender anyway. And then that being said, I kind of don’t want that to be the one and only barrier go to weapon. Which I feel is even more likely because with the ability nerfs I’m more likely to stay back and plink away. Which they said they don’t like in the past….even though they’re nerfing our ability to control ads and stay alive up close in high end content. I have no idea what they expect anymore. It’s just a constant cycle of nerf buff nerf buff and it’s never balanced. How about you just let people play the way they want to? If they like CQB, let them be powerful in CQB(why do you hate melee Bungie?). If they like to stay ranged and pick enemies off, let them do that. Diversity of play styles among a team is better than everyone speccing into survivability and plinking away with ranged weapons. What do we have abilities for if you neef their reliability to clear ads up close in high end content?

cuz you know what is practical? having 100% uptime of radiant aka anti-barrier
-
2 RepliesThere is a sidearm mod? *Nocks another arrow in my Wishender.
-
2 RepliesI mean, I have solo procked radiant, and it's pretty easy. Also your forgetting that, stasis can be easily used to prevent barriers from popping shields, then you got suspend from strand if cycled right also works. Then thiers a variety of easy ways to get volatile rounds going, then you have foetracer and the new dungeon legendary side arms that can two to three break barrier shields, and are really good at a distance, then you got side arms similar to buzzard that are good at range. Then you got final warning that can insta break barriers in gm content with a full charge burst, plus final warning gets barrier whenever you prock unraveling, which is easy to do, and easier this season, and ease of use to use on other subclasses.

we have anti barrier exotics. first ones that come to mind is erianas, wishender, and the one linear i cant remember the name. u dont even need a exotic mod any season cuz those three exotics are perfect for stunning those champs being very long range weapons
-
The new sidearm from the dungeon one shots alot of the barrier shields and has a very generous range
-
Remember everyone , you can do it your own way if it's done just how I say . Great line from a good song , Truer trues have never been true'd .
-
Use the sidearm with the best range. It’s the poopy range on most sidearms that makes it the worst. The champion can get way too close.
-
6 RepliesFor me the bigger issue is that there are no anti-champion mods on the artifact for ANY special weapon types (except the odd ones like eriannas vow and forerunner that break the mold). Options are just too limited
-
2 RepliesUse forerunner

1 ReplyEdited by donald420: 12/4/2023 8:44:47 PMI'm a warlock this is a nothing issue. I have my Ring of Fire and my Vex. 1 head shot to any red bar = barrier breaker and this applies to all weapons. I can even become radiant while rocking my Arc subclass thanks to my pantaloons. In short equip 1 solar weapon and hit that head shot. Flint Breaker (artifact)

Bump!
-
1 ReplyYou should try the warlord ruin sidearm. Long range “rocket”. Pretty sure this gun was the reason for it.
-
To the several morons(or D2 Gods) that say its easy to just use any solar weapon and proc radiant to get anti-barrier. It doesn't matter if you are SOLO, if you just use the -blam!- FLINT STRIKER mod from the artifact and literally any solar precision weapon of choice.
-
New lights aren't in game modes that heavily ask for the use of anti champion mods. Even malfeasance with lucky pants will kill any champion up to master and with a better build gm, when you get to the point of needing the anti champion mods, you are also at a point where you no longer need them. They have been made very redundant, just give us more fun stuff

Edited by Chunk: 12/4/2023 8:19:15 PMIf you're not using wish ender in a GM for anti barrier you're doing something wrong and if you don't have it arbalest is a beast... Let's just say you need to use a sidearm Forerunner Indebted kindness The new rocket sidearm from this latest dungeon
