Checkmate control is boring
who ever came up with this mode needs to be shot with a ball of there own -blam!-. just bring back regular control

Matched with new players along with Flawless/Glorious/Unbroken ones. That shouldn't be the case. (I don't mean the title players, I should not be matched with new players, neither should the title sweats.)

4 RepliesIt's not because of checkmate. It's because of the playerbase. Limited players means more variation in skill level as well. So now people that aren't used to it are getting their pee pees smacked for smaller errors, whereas they didn't before. And the really low skilled players that didnt learn to aim under pure sbmm dont stand a chance without at least 3 to 4 team mates behind them at almost every point in the game. And lastly a true issue that checkmate actually failed on was further reducing body shot damage, the hit registration was already poo, so now dealing damage is less consistent .

not enough opportunities to do goofy -blam!-. too limiting. Would be very fun as a more tactical alternate mode, but it reminds me too much of D2 vanilla.

2 RepliesIt’ll be back in around 4 weeks. Don’t worry I don’t like as much either. The ability and special ammo changes I personally like, but the TTK and health changes just make the pace of the game slower and boring.

It’s horrible. I love handcannons but being forced into using one is so annoying… 5k kills on my NTTE and it’s basically useless cause of the increased TTK. 4K on Vex and it’s useless. Leave regular damage for everything and the mode would be fine.

Cant relate, it’s the most fun in pvp I’ve had in years. Im having the time of my life outplaying everyone with my primary and ability use. Maybe now it’s finally time for the community to get good, you guys have crutched on specials for years and now are falling apart because you guys cant rely on your one shots anymore. Even now with sbmm, it’s still really fun. I can finally say pvp is at its best and the most balanced it’s ever been. Checkmate actually takes skill to play, you need to have good positioning, good aim, good cooldown management and good map awareness to do well. All those things I have always had even when specials got brought back. I stuck with double primaries for years and although I still managed to stay a good player, I’m basically a god now because my skill is finally paying off. You one shot scrubs had years to enjoy your cheesy BS, now it’s my turn to have fun.

It puts the muzzle on its own face. But it is a very good mode. Evil players like ability modes too that work with the stuff working.

Haven't seen many checkmate control posts on lfg only competitive and private matches.
