The Coil is a Masterpiece
Might be the best Seasonal Activity since Menagerie or however you spell it. Insanely good, rewarding, difficult, etc.
This activity has 0 Champions, and is still difficult even when I run my best build. Wish it was a little more difficult, but that’s amazing. I hope for the future we tone down on Champions for everything.
Every time I run it, I get showered with loot. I’m talking about 10-15 weapons in a full run, with materials and tons of other stuff. I wish the weapons were better though, and more levels were added.
Tons of other stuff to go over for this activity, but overall I’m trying to keep this short and simple. Keep making activities like this but different also, the players want to be showered with loot.
I’ve had my differences with this game and I criticize a lot, but I’m going to give credit where credit is due.

3 RepliesI personally hate it. But, let me clarify. I love the mode. It's fun. What's lame is how it's implemented. It is the main seasonal content. It shouldn't be so unforgiving. As it is, if you don't succeed through all four pathways, you get 0% of the progress you've made. I have two friends who still play. That's it. We're old. One has limited mobility in his right hand. All three of us are autistic. We tried twice last night and once again tonight. Out of lives by the second pathway. Zero progress to show for it. I love destiny and hate that I feel compelled to complain about this game. I want to be able to play the game I love and not feel like it's a chore, or that we're being punished for our disabilities. We're not going for pinnacle gear. We just want to be able to play the mode and have it be fair to us.

I wish it had more variety - maybe weekly reset will change it up.

16 RepliesIt is horrible activity design for a matchmade activity. Revive tokens Ppl have no clue about chests and pull ppl through. All reused assets from raid.

1 ReplyThe coil is a pile of crap.. solo option but the modifier is drifting apart? How very well thought through! While I'm talking about drifting apart, other players dart away from you making it impossible to use.. they die funnily enough. I'm guessing bungie also forgot how selfish players can be also.. all anyone does is prioritise getting to those vases to get the shards before anyone else.. forgetting to kill stuff or revive others and forcing others to run away from other players to then go and collect said shards scattered everywhere. It's completely thoughtless and frustrating.. Been playing destiny since year 1, day 1.. these last few years bungie have introduced several mechanics that force you to rely on your team mates. This would be fine if everyone was a thoughtful player, but this is far from the case.. it's rare to meet people that actually consider others.. and yes I'm well aware that LFG exists but I don't want to be forced into it. There are too many activities nowadays that make it necessary to be in a fire team of people I can talk to. That sort of thing used to be confined to raids, high end PvP and dungeons.. now it's in a seasonal activity? Do one bungie, you suck

5 Replies10 to 15 weapons, wow, I got 3! The difficulty sucks! Once again designing average everyday content around the best players makes the average players hate this game. Coil sucks, all the immunity, limited revives, poison bombs,more spawns tan you can kill make this mode not fun or engaging. I glad you enjoy it, but I will be avoiding it. Nothing about making the content every single player has to do so hard that they do not enjoy doing it is not a winning proposition. 45% miss in expected revenue, they have learned nothing from their continued failures this year!

The loot is great, but you have to be pretty good to do well.

The fact that it supposedly scales with fireteam size is so nice. Been playing as fireteam of 2, and it's refreshing that we don't need to have some blueberry running around.

1 ReplySo I haven't bought season yet still debating it. What I heat from my family and friends is it takes too long to run, considering 90% of the loot you get is trash and gets deleted.

3 RepliesI will say it's been one of the best 3 person activity so far but Paul tassi blowing it out of proportion I'm srry it's not better then menagerie and it's reward system I like it don't get me wrong but the tokens ruins it a little in MM regardless especially if it's that one person who gets 2shot by everything or runs in trying to take on everything and get sh*t on OMG pls remove Togetherness I think everything will be a lot better if that was removed

2 RepliesWhat are you smoking? I enjoy the activity but the loot drops are terrible. Pretty close to resetting my rank at riven and still haven't got an undying weapon or a red bar to drop other than the shot gun. Out of my 50 drops probably over 40 have been the shot gun.

I get that when we pick up those purple orbs we can break the boss shields but something one shots us to death - what is it?

It's a step in the right direction. Overall I'd say it's one of the better seasonal activities we've had, but all the effort that went into making it could probably have given us several new pvp maps instead and I'd much rather have those.

18 RepliesAgreed. Me and a buddy discussed how they could make it more roguelite and have more rooms with different enemies. Overall if you don't spam this event it's pretty fun to do once in a while. Yet to try it solo but can't wait.
