Overall Mod and Build craft nerfs.
Stasis changes are welcomed as they are over due.
Devour nerf overall. Oh but if your a warlock and use it with an fragment, it's the same.. no, it's still a nerf.
Bonk Hammer slight DPS nerf (lol)
Overall it's about 80% nerfs coming thru the whole game. At least Triton Vance Exotic is getting a 70% Damage Buff.

1 ReplyEdited by Roach: 11/23/2023 6:36:47 AMI was hanging on to see what this season looked like. But Bungie seem intent on doing everything that no asked for. This is what they do all day, instead of making content and listening, they come up with nerfs and doing things like adding world loot pool weapons to Lost Sectors, and yet more "balancing" patches where they increase things by 0.005% percent and then sit back marvelling at their perceived magnificence instead of doing what people have been asking for, just up the exotic drop rates in Lost Sectors like people have been requesting for eons. Come on. It's not hard. How about making Vex Incursion playable with a timer for it .. Nope. How about making a 1770 Nightfall not feel like an ad infested bullet sponge fest .. Nope. How about making anything feel less like a bullet sponge .. Nope. Bring some Strikes back .. Nope. How about putting the Ritual Set from this season in Collections .. Nope. Some Gambit changes .. Nope. But hey, it's not the fault of the Dev's right. It's Management. These Dev's are the problem. Sitting around all day smelling their own farts doing things no one asked for. You would think that after the eleventy millionth "balance patch" on weapons the penny would drop. Nope. They just go right back to tinkering with things no one asked for. Look at the way they talk about a game, wittering on about fun builds being a problem and cost to whatever "ratios". Meanwhile players are streaming out the door and they're advertising vastly overpriced Witcher 3 armour sets, one set of which will cost more than buying the Witcher 3 with both it's amazing DLC's right now. Ironically some of the builds you can make in Witcher are off the chart, and positively encouraged by a developer that has the right attitude to its games and players. Just requested a refund on Final Shape pre-order. Going to get Baldurs Gate 3 with it. I can't do this anymore. It's not healthy. Oh look Bungie, I just solidly nerfed your game into "Not Interested Anymore."

I'm more concerned about the fact that in the past month or more I just randomly insta-die for no reason. Something is definitely off. It isn't just the weird finisher glitch either. Just shooting things at full health and bam! Dead.

2 RepliesThe wording on the seps nurf is rather telling " we wanted to give other melee exotics a chance to shine in this nich" Well that shouldn't come at the cost of something that was functioning well. If you think it is overpowered by all means by they don't at any point say they think seps are overly powerful. Instead they are sniping it to try and push people to use other exotics. That isn't the way to get people to try new things. Instead refresh and update other exotics to reach the bar set by those loved exotics. I also think the defensive nurfs are a bit much. As it stand in most master level content groups tend to play a more defensive game. They avoid combat if possible or hang back to deal with threats. The reason for this is playing aggressive generally has a low rate of success even if you build your character and group defensively. The exception for this were strong solar groups, good devour builds, and Strand titan support. These builds provided exceptional support that increased the rate of success enough that players felt comfortable making aggressive risk playes more often to speed things along. Now we are going back to a long range defensive meta were fire teams will huddle up and try to cover corners. If this is what bungie wants for the hardest level content they can expect a sharp dip in player participation.

When i think about Bungie, i hear the 80's banger song "Out of touch" They cater to a tiny hardcore minority. Those kids want to be entertained with the game for unhealthy amounts of hours. Catering to such clowns is always a terrible idea because in the long run, regular full time working players (who are the vast majority of the playerbase) will quit the game. But atleast the streamers will have "carry content" that way :) Awesome game design when the twitch directory for the game entirely consists of carry service streams because the playerbase can't play the content themselves anymore. Games were meant to be FUN once upon a time, good times...

Bungie every season: "Here's our awesome season trailer, and here's all the nerfs to make sure you don't have fun!"
-
C'mon now! How can you not be super excited about even more nerfs and anti-barrier sidearms!

5 RepliesI think this is right outta Bungie's playbook... What's the bets that Bungie nerfs the shite outta us, continues to do so for months on end and right before Final Shape hits, they Buff everything nearest and dearest to all of us on its release. Making everyone praise Bungie and all of a sudden the fans that are more sheep-like than human start saying, "Final Shape doesn't seem so bad after all" - when really we've just regressed back to a previous state.

It is a depressing list of "Tuning" and history teaches us that Bungie do not have a clue on how the sandbox interacts within it's parameters remember the "We can't wait to see what you come up with" line from a TWAB when build crafting was young. So we play the crafting game and get constantly punished for the effort, gee thanks Bungie we feel like valued customers. "Player survivability is too high" Not always the case when you have nights when you seem to have tissue paper armor despite the correct resistances being applied. On a side note how about tuning the crappy RNG, this season I have completed 215 strikes during which I was hoping to get my hands on the "Gift" that was a ritual armour set originally to be sold in Eververse. My warlock has the set, my hunter needs 2 pieces and my titan needs 4. Season of the Wish? More like season of the wish we had the game we were led to believe we would be playing.

Bungie: we didn’t hit player goals and aren’t retaining or gaining new players so we have to fire ppl, what else should we do? Bungie dev: nerfs! Screw power fantasy make it harder . The tryhard community will save us! You would think the events of recent days would tell them that players don’t like nerfs and want a power fantasy easy but nope.

Edited by max: 11/23/2023 2:05:48 AMI've said this repetitively before 3.0 Light 3.0 will take away builds, it will take away subclasses, take away skills, reduce each class to exactly one play style, and then they will educate you on how powerful you are on that one build, and walk all over you with 14 nerfs, as if you have an alternative to go to In order to feel powerful in their next DLC, you need to feel weak first, this is not a game update, this is a final shape promotion
-
Get used to it champ.
-
At this point, just shutter the game. so scared about power creep, they just dont try anything fun.
-
1 ReplyThey killed one two punch on every titan build
-
1 ReplyBungie is really bad at numbers. They failed their projections and laid off good artists. They're failing at listening to the community and increasing difficulty for casuals more. They would rather crunch numbers instead of improving anything.
-
4 RepliesThe stasis buffs are NOT welcome. We wanted genuine reworks to make them viable in the 3.0 meta but these changes are terribly insignificant
-
Even the exotic armor overhauls felt underwhelming. There’s still no reason to use apotheosis veil for example. Not the buff it needed that’s for sure.
-
The exotic changes are just more yawn. There are several weapons and armor that nobody uses that need real reworks not these half measures and slight bumps, least of all just add more anti champion capabilities to them.

1 ReplyOnce again the response of Bungie is to nerf everything that make players have fun. Since the nerf of starfire protocol build I haven't had so much fun as then, again. When I see another games, for instance Diablo 4, with very strong buildings, and they say that if we are having fun, we should use it , because they won't nerf it, I am forced to believe that Bungie just don't want us to have fun. Just give us the tools to build strong buildings and let us have fun. Dont nerf it.
-
1 ReplyA few streamers that want a bad version of cod are more important than bungies space magic loving player base… sad times
-
Bungie just delivered a load of challenging content by nerfing everything... ...they are listening.
-
Shows that management is not solely responsible for ruining the game, the devs are just as much to blame. Seems like they fired the wrong ones and just left all the clowns. If this is their attempt to do better, the game is totally screwed.
-
4 RepliesIt’s like they are intentionally killing the game to make room for marathon since it’s doing so poorly.
-
Bungie is just fully disconnected from reality. What kind of daft team announces nerfs while trying to retain players…… pssst Bungie this is where you break things on purpose and let players have some fun….
-
1 ReplyI was semi-curious about the new season but this gave me Lightfall patch note-vibes. Killed any shred of excitement. Definitely not getting Final Shape if this is what it’s going to be like.
-
I don't think these nerfs address the root problem. Boss enemies are supposed to be power checks. Enemies that makes us slow down and play smart. Champions are just not that at all. Lightbearers aren't really wither since they aren't -blam!- aggressive as we are. Now Tormentors? They are a check. Imagine if in GotD we got Tormentors instead of Lightbearers in the 2nd encounter. Would be so very difficult. (Yes I know it wouldn't be lore accurate but I'm just giving an example). We need more mechanically demanding, truly threatening enemies, and Tormentors have set that bar.

3 RepliesEdited by Tigerpaws: 11/23/2023 8:20:23 AMBoW nerf could of been a lot worse thankfully. I have been loving that build this season. Stasis buffs are welcome - however, there is nothing that I can do with Stasis that I can't do with other subclasses (apart from the turrets i guess). My main issue is that if you remove the power fantasy, you remove the fun. there is a real thin line between being challenging and boring. Other thing I wanted to mention is that I've spent ages getting my armour. I'm not gonna get a load more just to get a small benefit from the artifact.
