Got a notification of black Friday sales in-game but no sales or discounts are being given or appearing in epic games.

Allo there, The Epic sale seems to just be a 33% off voucher. Rather then having lower prices and a voucher like they often do. For more info you'd need to reach out to the Epic support team as Bungie has no control over the Epic store.
