back in season of the splicer Bungie released a seasonal artifact mod called energy accelerant which doubled the damage of pretty much all aoe/cc weapon effects (dragonfly, chain reaction, etc). There's never really been much justification for chasing primary pve adept weapons because most of the time your just gonna slap minor spec on them. They need to add more adept mods that have practical use in pve because almost all of them are just stat bumps. Nobody in thier right mind is gonna chase an adept word of crota for +2 stats.
