Bring back Escalation Protocol. Hear me out.
We already have mars as a playable location in D2. Bring back EP as an Arena playlist, no sweat, no hero/legendary/master difficulty just a fun activity in which people can play and get mainly open world loot and resources (cores, alloys) if they reach the final boss. Put giant Hive Guardians as the weekly bosses, and make free seasonal content around it.
Escalation Protocol was not only the best public event in Destiny it was a great way for players to get resources and exotics.

Definitely has potential, and it would certainly make use of the Mars assets in a better way.

i remember sitting on mars for horus and playing EP solo since no one was ever joining. occasionally one or two people would pass by, help kill a few things and then run off once things got difficult... sounds like it would be nice to play again, but ...

Only if they bring back the Warmind title screen music. Guardians today take their hearing for granted. Escalation Protocol had everything. It was a challenging open-world activity that had exclusive armor, weapons, shader, ghost shell, ship, and sparrow to collect. It didn't require any additional currency to play so people could farm it as long as they wanted to. The closest thing in recent years to being as good was Season of the Haunted's Nighmare Containment, which was a good way to farm the seasonal currencies and ascendant alloys.

4 RepliesYes!! But hear me out. Make the boss the size of a mountain and guardians have to ascend structures to hit headshots and drive their sparrows to other limbs to open weak points.

it would be awesome if bungie gave us EP back. it was a good balance of difficulty and was pretty fun overall. although if they brought EP back, they should have the ikelos weapons in the loot pool and make them have a guaranteed chance of a red border drop on the last wave IMO.

4 RepliesIt's funny how some of the best work was removed from this game that wasn't designed by this business. It was literally the only public event between D1 and D2 that was worth playing. It's such a shame how much potential this game has and it's wasted being in this business's hands. 9 years, and the only thing they came up with as far as I know is designing public events that drop garbage, literally loot that is dismantled for glimmer. 9 -blam!- years and that is all they have ever done 🤦♂️

Bring back mars as a whole tbh.... Was always one of the better D2 planets. Hell even in D1. In exchange for Europa, not been to tgat planet in a hot while lol if there sunsetting anything next it should be that planet imo....

I’d think if they updated EP there would be massive backlash from the community complaining that they’re reskinning yet another thing. Sure they’ll be plenty in your comments.

I'll only jump on if they allow matchmaking. From where I'm from with the timezones. I hardly see anyone on in the servers I'm in. Even on the weekends, I was struggling to find anyone willing to farm them.
