3 easy kills with heavy with the heavy GLs is way too much. Rockets are harder to use now and they only have 1 rocket. Make GLs have less ammo in PvP. They are extremely oppressive. I use one, don't get me wrong. However, they are in desperate need of an ammo nerf.

2 RepliesBy that logic, you can get 4 kills with lmgs, and eyes of tomorrow gets infinite ammo. It's all situational and more often than not you only get 1-2 kills not to mention that typically there is only 2-3 heavy drops per match.
-
While this is here, I've only played a few matches of checkmate survival and don't know if its going to be changed but the heavy in the first round of that mode is completely unnecessary. How was that supposed to turn out well for lower skilled players?
-
6 RepliesThey are fine.
-
3 RepliesGet rid of heavy in trials and comp
-
2 RepliesHeavy just needs to spawn less often. It’s absurd compared to D1.
-
They should remove heavy spawns, make it drop from a 10 streek
-
4 RepliesI still think heavy just simply has no place in pvp to begin with
-
6 RepliesI say we throw all the nerf herders into the pit of sarlack.
-
Why do people whine about wanting weapons nerfed instead of using them?

Not really just don’t let them have it

Edited by Sturm with no Drang: 11/16/2023 12:09:43 AMThis is just my take, but a good sum of the pvp issues I've come across people complaining about in the forums give me the vibe as if those same people still play like they're in Halo.
I'm not in Comp or Trials enough to really confirm for those specific playlists, but I could have sworn that the last time I was in pvp and someone picked up heavy there was also a text pop-up down near the bottom left of the player HUD that usually says > [Player] loaded [weapon shape/type]. If I knew that a player with a loaded HGL was down a corridor and was ready to pop it off the moment they saw me, I'd make sure to only corner peek if necessary and then make sure I'm high jumping around the corner or angling my barricade. For Warlocks, I suggest praying to the Traveler. I'm certain that a majority of players will always think to aim at the floor expecting where you might end up being rather than trying to hit the ceiling or walls. If it plays out like this, there's a good chance that you'll only get your shields clipped so long as you don't get hit directly, but then an issue of ammo isn't really relevant if someone misses most or all of their rounds. Now, maybe HGL explosion radius is a lot larger than I remember and the aoe damage dropoff is more forgiving for those who aim at the floor. Even so, I still believe that situational awareness could easily combat a lot of supposed issues.
Just jump to counter gls... Oh wait you dont have the right to jump in this game now
-
Hard agree. They’re the easiest to get heavy kills with by a country mile.
-
You're not wrong. I'd be fine if heavy was removed from pvp entirely. Or only given as a reward for a gold tier medal or something similarly rare. I kinda liked the *concept* of a heavy round to mix things up, but i wish it could be done without actually giving heavy lol. Sincerely, A heavy GL user
-
Heavy should not be a thing in trials and comp in general. Also never understood why heavy gls have 3 shots and a rocket launcher has only 1...
-
Heavy should be removed from all pvp it makes the game cheesy. Nothing against those that like to use it. But free kills isn't much of a challenge.
-
No, Rockets need an ammo buff to counter
-
I would argue that the nerfs to other heavies is what has GLs in such a great spot. The nerf to Eager Edge has made swords way too punishing to use and miss with. The handling nerf and reduced explosion radius to rockets has made them significantly more difficult to use compared to GL's, while only being slightly more forgiving on a non-direct hit. Ammo reduction and TTK lacking on MG's is bad. It's not uncommon to use an MG and get straight up outgunned by a primary. My solution would be a bit of a buff for all of those other weapons. Rockets should be able to kill in a much wider radius OR should have two shots per heavy pickup. Eager Edge needs the secondary dash brought back. MG's should have a damage buff.

Yeah, 2 seems like a better bet. Here’s a secret: You can even get 4 shots if you’re rocking a GL with High Explosive Ordinance and a Backup Mag mod. (Don’t know if it only works on rapid fires that just all I’ve tried it on. Works on Koraxis and Tarnation)

Edited by stinkych33Ze: 11/15/2023 2:50:48 PMMy suggestion: - Make GLs carry only 2 ammo - Reduce overall heavy ammo spawns - Reduce the amount of time dropped heavy bricks can be recovered for. Right now, if you die while in possession of heavy, heavy will sit for 30 seconds. It’s absurd. It’s almost impossible for someone not to pick it up. The main problem is that most GLs come with Impulse Amplifier nowadays. It’s almost impossible to evade a GL shot thats moving at the speed of light. Rockets like Gally tend to move so slow that firing them outside of 30 meters of range is almost impossible to get a kill with. GLs need less ammo and they may even need to tune Impulse Amplifier. Just because it’s not useful in PvE, so it wouldn’t affect anything in that sense. It’s still very good in PvP.

Edited by Ryan Foxling: 11/15/2023 5:00:20 AMI kinda agree, even if I have like 3k+ kills with Memory Interdict. They were already strong before, but impulse amplifier made them OP and new trials gl is going to make them even popular, because it's just better

6 RepliesAll grenade launchers should be heavy. So tired of seeing primary and special weapons that are actually heavies running rampant in pvp.
-
3 RepliesI think they're fine but in modes like trials and comp I would love to see either 1 bullet or just non to begin with
-
Sometimes they do seem to be ticking up into a rocket launcher blast radius. They're also a very annoying weapon to have the blast radius suddenly not work magically. Not sure if it's that big of a deal that they are simply the buffed heavy atm though.

I've got up to 7 kills on one brick of ammo with the wendigo/chain reaction, got to love it when they're team shooting.
