I just faced a team of 2.5 KD players doing a carry, while I got a couple of mediocre solo players. I thought matchmaking was supposed to be team based.
-
Be happy you had full teams, I loaded in 1 v 3 and 2 v 3 several times.
-
The matchmaking in general sucks. Even in Control, I’ve had a few games where weve started with 10 people.
-
It is, but when it was implemented, Bungie also announced that in rare occasions games for Duos and Trios can be filled with solos if MM takes too much time. And as population for PvP is what it is, this might happen obviously more often now.
-
It’s a combination of the new system and VERY low population. The matchmaking is completely random with no lobby balancing. You could either get gods or blueberries on your team. It’s completely random who you get. As for population, well… you have to keep in mind… Trials is the single most INFAMOUS playlist in all of destiny. It constantly loses its population absolutely rapidly each season. With the population so low, you’re FAR more likely to get matched with 3 stacks and repeat players. Aka… Trials is simply dying. Unless Bungie comes up with a system to increase causal, pve mains, and low to slightly above average players engagement in this activity, you’re practically never going flawless without getting VERY lucky, or are a VERY high skilled player who can carry. Trials has practically only sweats and bottom of the barrel pvp players left. If you want to continue to engage in trials, you should keep this in mind, and judge for yourself if trials is really worth the frustration and stress.

2 RepliesSo I did a little experiment over the last few days. I decided to dip into the world of PVP ( a PVE player ) and a very poor PVP player at that. I played 60+ games straight of Ranked and Trials. Mainly to improve, get to know Maps, load outs, strategies, etc. As I knew I was going to lose the majority, the fact I was matched against try hards didn't bother me. 2 things bothered me. The first is the number of same players I kept matching with, which I can only assume is because the PVP pool is so small. The second and most annoying thing is losing a game when a player leaves. Which happened more times than not. This needs to change. If a player leaves, the match should be scrubbed, the opposition gets the win, and the losing team gets a nulled game. The player who leaves gets a minimum hour ban. It'll take time, but eventually, you'll worm out the constant offenders. Unless you want PVP to be only fireteams and not solo, then the pool gets even smaller,

We (a team of pvp casuals from 0.6-0.8 kd) just played the sixth match in a row against a team of 2+ kd players, getting stomped over and over. this is such fun, i want to shoot myself in the foot irl...

The matchmaking is team based, but if there arent enough three stacks playing for a match to be found, eventually the search range will widen for them until it can find a match. The cost of having a low player count. Luckily it does still heavily prioritise fireteam size, so things like this shouldnt happen frequently. Ive only had it happen once since the trials rework. The unfortunate alternative is bringing back freelamce, which would kill duo queues, and probably three stacks as well since the playerbase is as small as it is right now. So we may just have to take the occasional unfair matchup for the sake of the playlist surviving.

There is like 2000 people playing lol. The game is dead. find something new till next season.

3 RepliesI noticed like last week sbmm has been ramped up. I play against the same players in rumble even though they are in Germany, Japan, Taiwan or other third world countries.
-
Bungie doesn't care about most players in trials. They just want to reward the whiney 3%.
-
I get cued against randoms that have hundreds of flawless. My teammates deal a total of 100 or less damage at the end of a MATCH. It may as well be a 3v1.
-
2 RepliesYou want pain? I loaded a game with only 4 players in it total, no one left at any point (4 players from the start of fly in) and the other 3 players were all on the enemy team, forcing a 1v3

1 ReplyEdited by AshThaSupreme: 11/12/2023 4:00:10 PMIt’s like 8 bad teams 2 good teams 9 bad teams and then 1 good team that’s how my solo experience has been going. You either play with the bots or go against them it’s wild af. Nothing new though we should be used to this I mean I am I’m just laughing and chilling 😅😂

3 RepliesNext season the whole crucible will be like that.
-
1 ReplyYou might have played a duo of strong players and a bum. You didn’t match a 3 stack of you solo qued.
-
It is but when the player pool is too low in your region that will happen
-
They removed the old matchmaking system a season or 2 ago. Completely ruined the playlist.

1 ReplyJust checked my games on the tracker I was only favored to win 2 of twenty games played and there where multiple match the opposing team had a 85 or better percent chance to win before the match even started. How in the world is that fair?
-
1 ReplyPlayed my first match of the weekend, no problem. Second matched I was booted mid first round for connection issues. Of course my connection is completely fine.
-
Why are we still getting these kinds of posts?
-
It's connection based matchmaking.
