About the TWID

‪”Our goal is to steer the Crucible experience in a direction that satisfies our most dedicated PvP players.‬” ‪That line right there, is why crucible will NEVER return to the glory days of Forsaken/TTK, where FUN was the focus.‬ ‪Appeal to the top 5% all you want, but it won’t end well, crucible is already a barren wasteland, and all this will accomplish is push away what little causal players remain. Do not twist my words, by all means top players should have some bones thrown at them, but it should NOT be the focus of crucible, the focus should be on getting the casual players back in, massively boosting the popularity/population back up, And I’d like to remind you all, sharks won’t last in an ocean if it’s just other sharks, Anyone else remember when you’d get in from school/work, and just for play crucible because you wanted too? Because it was dumb fun you didn’t need to take too seriously, can we have those days back?

  • Yes, crucible is already a barren wasteland.... After they listened to the .5 Tims for years. Time for a different approach. 😈

    • The “glory days of Forsaken/TTK” was all about catering to the dedicated players. Proven by this year’s awful performance, it’s obvious their approach to cater to the casual has failed miserably. Destiny is at its best when it’s made for people for love Destiny

        • Tbh making pvp fun for the players that play it the most makes sense, I play both and appreciate this direction.

        • There’s was a spectrum but it’s all over the place now. Regular crucible could be between hardcore and casual, banner I think is more on the casual side. Then there’s comp and trials at the higher end. Then you have your quick play and rotators. It’s systems above everything that determines difficulty

        • Anytime there is a crucible section in those I just skip the whole thing. I have always avoided pvp like the plague and I will continue to do so.

Thanks to the 5%, especially IB nowadays, crucible is literally garbage in every aspect of a PvP game mode.

          • Huh?! Forsaken was CBMM buddy. We ARE going back to that. Sbmm has been killing pvp for a year and half, after several attempts at tweaking it it's become clear it's unsustainable. Good bye sbmm, you will not be missed

            • What this means if you’re not in the top 5% of PvP don’t bother playing it. You’re only going to be the means to which better players achieve their goals. God forbid the top 5% play against themselves. They certainly won’t have that. They just want an easy stomp against lesser players. More proof the PvP community is completely toxic and not worth playing- and Bungie are enabling it. Bungie, this kind of hubris is why no one wants to play your silly game. Back at it, a week after laying people off…

              • They tried SBMM, you guys don’t play PvP enough to cater too, it’s that simple, just look at the player count. Players like myself stopped playing PvP due to Bungie catering to you crybabies. Auto response to get ahead of the “ you only want to PuBStoMp”, No, I want a variety of skill level that CBMM brings. You get some sweats and you get some casuals, it’s a mix and I am okay with that. Playing the same skill level gets stale pretty fast.

                  • If you think the Crucible is some barren wasteland now, despite it being 45% of the active playerbase, just wait until all the unskilled kids get stomped every game. "Top Players" get skillbased matching one way or the other: one setting is enforced (SBMM), the other is by kicking out everyone else (CBMM). They'll cry either way, as it's always been.

                    • PvP is a barren wasteland because they did the opposite of what long-time PvP players wanted at every turn. It’s the PvP casuals who screamed from the rooftops that they’d play regularly if they got SBMM and more. You never showed up.

                      • Just let the game die on its own. It is 10 years too late to save the game. SO many other better titles to play for better PvP. This games PvP only stays alive because people support large streamers who think they know everything about the game and then belittle other peoples opinions.

                            • You are literally counter arguing yourself. You want SBMM to satisfy the casuals and you want the casual party mode fun back. SBMM is a sweat fiesta. It turns casual chill games into a tournament 24/7. CBMM is what we need. Mixed lobbies where one game is extremely relaxed and you can use fun loadouts and another match can be really tough. A healthy mix. Not that stale trash tournament every single match in a casual looter shooters casual pvp game mode.

Dedicated doesn’t mean sweats. It means the people who spend a lot of time in pvp. I can understand the confusion, but they’re not 1:1 the same. Every sweat is dedicated, but not every dedicated is a sweat. Edit: I also don’t believe Bungie is conflating the two, for one simple reason. Retention rates have plummeted, even among the hardcore players. I know, almost my entire clan hasn’t regularly logged since Lightfall. It’s been two seasons of an almost empty roster. They know that they need to incentivise the people who actually sink time into the game mode to stick around, because then if anyone else decides to tip their toes in its easier to slip into that same rhythm.

                                    • Doesnt it make sense to cater to the players that play that mode the most? You wouldnt expect PvE to be catered towards PvP players at the expense of the PvE guys.
